Really liked the personal interaction with the hosts/owners who were very generous with helpful travel tips, advice and recommendations. Our room was generous and light and the bathroom light and bright with good towels. It was the only bedroom on our trip that had a powerboard close to a mirror and a writing table which meant you could plug in your computer, recharge your mobile and use the hair-straightener at the same time!

The Metropole hotel didnt look that much approaching from a distance but did we get a shock when we checked in and saw our rooms,the pool,and the breakfast was amazing. The wonderful customer service- friendly and helpful every step of the way. The delicious traditional breakfasts AND the great location- just a short walk to Corks main shops/pubs and also a great base for any tourists wanting to do day trips to other areas. The hotel staff were excellent throughout our stay and we were able to check in early, before 12, into a large spacious room. The food quality was very good as were the prices. The hotel is only a short walk from the main shopping street in Cork and the surrounding area was quiet. The leisure facilities are good although the locker area needs an up

Eileen and Michael were welcoming from the first moment we walked through the door. Eileen made afternoon tea for us . The breakfasts were superb. Our host Eileen was a real gem - she made sure we had everything we needed and even offered to drop us off in the city (not sure if this is usual or not!). She supplied us with a full buffet breakfast in a beautiful dining room overlooking a garden, a lovely way to start the day.
Blackrock is not right in the centre of Cork but the city is easily accessible by car (10 mins drive) or by bus - there is a bus stop right outside the accommodation.

The service was unbelievable - from the moment you step into the BandB you are made to feel so welcome. The rooms are beyond comfortable and include lots of little touches such as heaters in the bathrooms and pillow-top mattresses on the bed. As soon as you arrive, you are given fresh, home-made scones, danishes, and fresh tea and coffee. Wonderful

Excellent! friendly attentive staff room was perfect and clean fresh towels daily!They reall work hard to please Tea and cake on arrival a relly nice touch! - We're upgraded from a double room to a very lovely room with sittting area with Big Flat Screen TV and DVD with surround stereo system and a nice kitchen.
