  This hotel, more of a farm reall, is delightful. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed with great attention to detail. Everything is colour co-ordinated, there are tea lights and matches, a proper jar of coffee on the tea tray and in the bathroom - straighteners ! We stayed there off season and it was very quiet (exactly what we were looking for). The room was very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on the property and the food is very good, many vegetables are home-grown. There is also a hot tub there from which you could see the horses and the mountains around.

  The new owner was really kind to us. We were on our honeymoon and he made our stay extra comfortable. He was also willing to let us know if the northern lights came out, which they did a little while we were there. It's a good place to see them as the hotel is just over the bridge from Borgarnes, so there is not much light pollution.
