  Staff very accommodating, fantastic value for the money - lovely (if a wee bit old and tired) room with very carefully thought out details such as quality hot chocolate as well as tea and coffee in the room (with real cream for the drinks - not powered stuff).   The staff are amazingly friendly and really made us feel welcome. Everyone was cheerful, helpful and all round nice. It felt more like a family hotel than a chain hotel (and I mean that as a positive comment.)   the staff from our arrival were more than helpfull, and went out there way to find us a nice resturant to eat in and made the reservation for us. the hotel and the staff were brilliant! - The location and view from our room was excellent as was the room itself.   Great location in central York, also one of the only hotels that allow one-night only booknigs. The rooms were lovely, great bathrooms all newly refurbished and airy. I left my sat-nav on show in my car, they even phoned me while I was out to let me know and then went to my room found my car keys and got it out for me!   Had a great stay at Burswood Guest House, the attention to detail was first class, down to dressing gowns, slippers, chocolates and real napkins (not the usual paper serviettes) The breakfast was excellent a great selection of fruit and a lovelly cooked breakfast. It was a pleasure to meet the owners, George and Maureen, they ensured we had a comfortable stay. - What a fantastic place to stay! This was a two night treat weekend at the races for my father in law and did he get a treat, as we did also! It was like staying in a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was better than most top business hotels I have stayed in across Europe. The attention to detail in the bedrooms and the dining room was fantastic. George the owner is a lovely guy and the service is second to none.

  The room was immaculately clean and I can't honestly suggest how it could be improved. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. I will definitaly recommend it to friends and will definitely stay there again.
