First of all we tried at last minute to accomodate a family of 2 adults and 2 kids but we never imagined that we could get 2 days accomodation at this price. The location was ideal as a stopover before our final destination the next day.There was ample parking and when booking in, the receptionist was friendly and helpful.
The accomodation was clean, comfortable and extremely quiet and peaceful.When we make this trip in the future, without doubt,Norton Canes is where we will stay.

Some of the staff were excellent and very obliging. The rooms were clean. Quite location no noise at night. Great for fitness as a well stocked gym and squash courts. The staff were very friendly despite us turning up after one in the morning after our nearby concert had finished. The following morning we were met by more friendly staff for breakfast and the reception was friendly too. The rooms were roomy, clean and tidy with everything you needed.

I have stayed at the Old Royd for many years when travelling to Alton Towers and I have never had a bad word to say. They get better infact, every year. Very pleasant and comfortable and within easy reach of all pubs, restaurants, tesco and attractions like Alton Towers. Great location just off the M6 with a choice of 3 places to eat with walking distance of the hotel.
Nice free parking right on site and a short period of free WiFi enough just to check e-mails.
Nice clean well equipped room with good quality bed and bedding.
