We only stayed for one night, for a get-together for my birthday,everything about the cabin was excellent, my father and I were very impressed. My daughter, son in law, son and granddaughters came up from Dorset and stayed in a 3 bedroomed house, and were equally impressed, especially with the birds and squirrels on our veranda in the morning. - Th

Hotel was very modern and clean. Rooms were a good size with a football theme. Lots of pictures and quotes from England teams and players around the hotel. Pool and gym were an added bonus. Had an amazing massage in the spa which I would highly recommend. Really nice buffet breakfast with a variety of options.

We had a fabulous stay overnight at this magnificent hotel! It is new, spacious and extremely well-appointed. The rooms and bathrooms have all mod-cons and more! The inter-connecting doors were useful with children next door. Wonderful countryside view. The lovely, clean swimming pool and spa are perfect to relax in after a day at Alton Towers (30-minute drive). Helpful staff, and a fantastic array at the hot & cold buffet breakfast. Highly recommended this for a tranquil break.

I have stayed at the Old Royd for many years when travelling to Alton Towers and I have never had a bad word to say. They get better infact, every year. Very pleasant and comfortable and within easy reach of all pubs, restaurants, tesco and attractions like Alton Towers. Great value for money and they cater for larger families as well as groups of friends which can sometimes be difficult to get a room for. everything about the hotel from the moment you drive up the long entrance is absolutely outstanding. The period hotel interior is beautifully designed with lots of character. The staff were excellent, polite and attentive and you would be hard pushed to complain about anything, even the housekeepers were warm and friendly and caring. -
