We were given a key code to get in as we were arriving when Heidi was out, it was a simple and no fuss system, we were able to put our bags in and go and explore York. We had an 8 month old baby with us and the guest house were great with accommodating him - cot and high chair provided. They also assisted us with drying some of his clothes which was fabulous.
The breakfasts were amazing.
Also, the rooms were reasonably sound proof which helped our baby get a good night's sleep and also meant other guests didn't hear him!

quiet feel. It was about 15 minutes from railway station so we were able
to walk and it was about 20 minutes to centre of town. The staff were

We thought the suite was beautiful. The bed was so, so comfortable and the layout of the room very much to our liking. The whole suite was "quality". The breakfast was immense and kept us going until early evening. The staff we met were very polite and very attentive. The area outside our suite was very nice but the weather wasn't conducive to sitting outside. I would recommend "Mount Royale" very highly! Convenient to the city and all its attractions.

The owners of the hotel were first class in all departments. I would stay again without hesitation, as everything fit the bill for my requirements. The city was just a 15 minute walk, the location was quite and peaceful, the cooked breakfast was as good as I have had on my travels. The rooms were typical Premier Inn-so you know what to expect and you know the quality to expect (Good).

access to the city walls. Easy walking distance to the sites of the old
city. Effective air conditioning, which was necessary during the week we

Bar Convent is lovely. It's cheap, clean, safe, quiet, comfortable, welcoming and convenient for central York.
It isn't luxurious, but you don't choose to stay in a working convent if you want luxury. Everything you need is there and more, including a huge garden which is a big plus in York city centre.
