  The staff were extremely helpful and found us at breakfast to see if they could help us decide our trips. All very friendly and had plenty of time to help their customers. Dinner was amazing.   - This place is an excellent value for what you get. - Very friendly & helpful family-run campground & cottages. - Cottages are in nice wooded area. - Cozy cabin sleeps up to 4 but probably better for 2 people due to luggage space needed. - Cabin includes kitchenette with utensils, pots, glasses, fridge, etc. - Bathroom (shower) was a rat... vad folk säger » her tight space but adequate for short stay. - Easy access from No. 1 ring road and close to restaurants and filling station. - Breakfast was supposed - We stayed just one night in very cozy and quaint cabin. As we were arriving the front desk staff (I think the owners) let us know that outside we could currently see the northern lights. From the field right there they were visible, they then suggested a place to drive to (about 10 minutes away) to escape the light pollution of Selfoss and see them even better.   We enjoyed a lot: the hospitality of all the staff, the big house, the cottage, the horses!! We were given a really beautiful cottage even if we've booked a double room.   Ound this review helpful Eldsto is a perfect home base for touring the south. It is centrally located, so many day trips are possible. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The accommodations are comfortable, tastefully decorated, and clean. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, electric kettle with coffee/tea and Thor's hand-thrown pottery ... vad folk säger » bowls and cups. Breakfast was serve ourselves, so we could sleep in as long as we wanted. The couch is large and comfortable and there is a flat scree - We liked the warm welcome and the delicious dinner: very well prepared 'Ling' (fish) and a surprisingly tasty honey and ginger icecream dessert. We appreciated the friendly service in helping us out with the bustimes and the interesting stories when showing us the photos of Eyjafjallajökul by Ragnar Sigurdsson. We surely recommend staying at Eldstó Guesthouse and if there is no need to stay at least try the tasteful food and bakery or visit the Gallery with ceramics.

  The guesthouse was incredible!! We loved the location. It is situated in a very nice neighborhood that is conveniently located a block from the pool facilities. And the pool recreation center was incredible after spending the day hiking! The owners were wonderful to deal with, very helpful and accommodating. We absolutely highly recommend the lovely Guesthouse Árny! - Normal room, comfort place for breakfast. Only 4 rooms on the floor with shared bath, so no queue.

  Room was enormous. Hotel seems to be mostly used by bus tour groups. We ate late to avoid the crowds, though had to ask for some food to be re-stocked. The breakfast was continental (rolls, butter, ham, salami, eggs, cheese, tomato, cucumber, coffee, tea, cereals, milk, everything you want). You can have a dinner too, it's a menu, with soup, a main course, and dessert. They make everything, and it's very tasty. It's cheaper than usual for a bigger portion. We loved that place.   This was the best place we have booked in our 7 nights in Iceland. The landlord was funny and he prepared a very good breakfast with waffles and fish based food.He was a nice company.   My dad and I visited Iceland in October of 2006. We'd originally intended to just drive through the country and find accommodations when we felt like we needed them. It quicky became apparent that wasn't going to work. We needed a "home bas" and Dad was adamant that he didn't want to stay in Reykiavik so we journeyed out a bit. I can tell you how... vad folk säger » we got to this town but we pulled into the local hotel. They were expensive and full but gave us the name of this place and another. When we arrive - The location was a 5 minute walk to the restaurants, and away from any noise. The price was very reasonable for the 3-bed self-contained apartment. Breakfast cost extra, but was generous and had a good variety. Wi-fi was included and worked very well. The apartment was comfortable and spacious - good size bathroom, lounge, dining, kitchenett and bedroom. The lady was very lovely and helpful. There was on-site parking. I highly recommend this for a relaxing stay.
