  One of the best and most friendly (staff and room) hotels we had on our ringroad trip. Definitely a recommendation to leave the road no. 1, very good dinner and breakfast!! Very nice view on the lake, absolutly quiet. We liked it very much. - We stayed in one of the great cabins. We were there to hike and enjoy the forest.   This was one of our favorite stays in Iceland! The staff was so wonderful!!! They were always available when needed. Also, the daughter talked to us about Iceland and their culture and the surrounding area for a while, which was really neat! It was great talking to her! She also provided some great suggestions and recommendations about local ... vad folk säger » events, things to try, and remaining ideas for the rest of our trip! It felt very homey! The rooms were very comfortable and spacious! Everything w - Very clean, comfortable and modern facilities. Friendly and helpful staff who knew about the area and helped us to book a hike/glacier trip. Good food as a set menu can be found in the farmhouse next door. Excellent breakfast, including homemade waffles.I would definitely stay here again.

  The staff comprising of Oris, Tomas, Olin and Christie were just awesome people. We felt that we were at home having a night out. All our questions were answered with additional info of interest added. The rooms and beds were more than adequate. I liked the idea of having his/her comforters for the bed. We were able to view t - The room was clean and comfortable with a good view of the town. There were outdoor spaces to enjoy the sunset over the water.   The staff service was excellent. We encountered a blown tyre and we seek help from the staff. The staffs who are the owners, drove to our vehicle and assisted us to replace the blown tyre. After that they drove my parents to the accommodation. Once we have settled down, her husband drove to a mechanic workshop to fix the tyre for us even though it... vad folk säger » was about 2200 hrs at night. We were truly grateful for their help as we would be stranded if they didn't help us. I would really recommend the place - Were in Vopnafjordur for a specific reason, but could not get over how beautiful, relaxing and simply wonderful the area was - one of the the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. The farm was lovely, although a little more remote than we'd expected. Had one of the best nights sleeps ever though...very comfortable

  Lovely and peaceful - a nice way for us to refresh and recollect ourselves in the middle of our trip around the Ring Road.   We originally had booked to stay in one of the smaller rooms with a shared bathroom, however, the manager upgraded us to a private apartment that was empty for the night! He was very helpful and kind! Having seen both rooms, they both were very nice and spacious and clean!   Location is good, may be the only place where you can stay for that small price in this region. Not everybody likes shower and toilet outside the cottage but the price was really good. And we had shower in swimming pool (anyway it's good opportunity in Iceland to spend 1-2 hours in swimming pool with hot tubs after long day of travelling, I would ... vad folk säger » recommend everybody to use this opportunity) Also the lobster restaurant just near the swimming pool and not far away from cottages is excellent! (And - nice cozy cottages, small room with table and hot plate with a separate bedroom. We had 2 kids with us so they gave us bunkbeds. Perfect. Shower and toilet near by.

  It was a home away from home. We wanted to go Skaftafell and although this was pretty far away (not for Icelandic standards by the way, 103 km from Skaftafell), we are glad we made the detour. The owners are very accomodating and will help you with literally anything. They also have a warm heart for the environment and tourism; e.g. the owner help... vad folk säger » s on reparing the road to the glacier that can be seen from your window. Beds and rooms are comfortable and the seperate guesthouse has a high 'vacati - Fantastically friendly owners who provided great advice on what to see locally - especially the walk out to one of the glaciers behind the guesthouse. The breakfasts were delicious, the rooms were immaculately clean and very pleasant to stay in with great shared bathrooms/shower rooms, the wifi internet access was very good and they had a computer for those without mobile devices. This was our first stop in Iceland and was the most homely and welcoming place we stayed for the entire holiday!

  We stayed at a 3 bedroom apartment over the Posturinn, not in the main guesthouse. The apartment was lovely, large and clean. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind - they replaced the faucet while we were there and came within 3 minutes when we locked ourselves out at 11pm. Serve yourself breakfast was included which was good, guests sitting room and kitchen/dining room were nice and spacious. Nice outside seating area.
