  - Our host Thorey was extremely welcoming and helpful; offering lots of recommendations and guidance - We stayed in an apartment separate from the primary guesthouse, which was quite large and comfortable - Both the guesthouse and the apartment are easy walking distance into city center (for people who are accustomed to walking) - Both the guestho... vad folk säger » use and the apartment are far enough from the city center that noise is not a problem (as we understand it can be downtown) - It is easy to day trip o - We rented the studio apartment for a week. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.

  Amazed to have easy on-street parking right in front of the hotel each night. Enjoyed the art! Impressed by the signs up one day that the street lights would be off and an upper floor room available for potential viewing of the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, cloud cover did not cooperate. Our young waiter (from the Netherlands) was so p - I've been once before and choosing a Hotel for my wife's 60th birthday remembered Hotel Holt for its atmosphere, its wonderful collection of paintings and its excellent food. Of course it is also within walking distance of everywhere you want to go. The hotel fully lived up to my recollections and went down very well with my artistic wife.

Riklig utrustning. - The apartments were spacious by European standards and they were ideally located near City Center. They were cleaned daily and everything worked reasonably well. The Kitchen was European small but well furnished. The bedrooms were large and had 4 twin beds, combining into 2 Queens.   The apartment is very well presented, clean tidy and well appointed. From the outside the building does not look promising but inside the apartment is attractive, warm, light and airy. The lady of the house was extremely helpful and kind: she ordered us a tour plus a taxi to the airport since we wanted to save a bit time due to our early morning flight.
