  I'd like to start by saying what wonderful owners the couple who run Smáragata Rooms are. They are very friendly, welcoming and will do their very best to accommodate your (reasonable) needs. The property is in a sleepy, quiet residential street but is by no means in a bad location - infact, it's excellent. The guest rooms have a separate entrance... vad folk säger » of their own so that you can come & go as you please, without disturbing the family who live above. The bsí bus station is literally around the c - Iceland was fantastic! The countryside was unique, and we especially enjoyed the Golden Circle tour, and the Blue Lagoon. Our Smaragata 1-bedroom apartment with kitchenette and private facilities was close to the city bus terminal, and an easy 10-15 min walk to the city and major attractions. The owners were friendly and very helpful.

  The owners of the guesthouse are very friendly, and kept the rooms very clean. There is always someone cleaning the bathroom and vacuuming the hallways. The kitchen is also good, as is the dining room. The bathrooms are kept clean and well-stocked. Each room is equipped with a sink, drain stopper, and soap.   - Our host Thorey was extremely welcoming and helpful; offering lots of recommendations and guidance - We stayed in an apartment separate from the primary guesthouse, which was quite large and comfortable - Both the guesthouse and the apartment are easy walking distance into city center (for people who are accustomed to walking) - Both the guestho... vad folk säger » use and the apartment are far enough from the city center that noise is not a problem (as we understand it can be downtown) - It is easy to day trip o - We rented the studio apartment for a week. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.

  We rented two Hansen apartments (lower and top levels) and found them to be excellent value. Both apartments were extremely clean and just as pictured. We especially liked the fact that the location was terrific. A very short walk to downtown area and famous church. We even walked to the bus station (about 4 or 5 blocks) to catch the Fly Bus b... vad folk säger » ack to the airport...very doable even with children. There was also cereal available (3 kinds in each apartment) and orange juice in the fridge plus - The apartment is really big, which is about 62 sq m. It is so clean and comfortable. The best part is the kitchen, you can find everything there, even for oil, salt, tea bags etc...The host is very nice, he showed us where to go, the supermarkets, shops on a map and welcomed us with orange juice! There is a phone which is connected to the host's cell phone. So, you won't have to worry and there is always someone for you to ask for help during the stay.
