We rented the studio apartment for a week. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.

Good clean and warm guesthouse. Very warm, casual and homely welcome from owners Edda and Runar. Very clean, comfortable and warm room with good fast wifi Internet. Breakfast buffet incredibly good, and they will accommodate you if you need some extra rest in the morning. Edda and Runar very helpful in general when I needed to find somewhere in the city or arrange anything. Very central,side street off main shopping street! Beds very comfy had 2 x twin bed rooms,lounge,kitchen,bathroom.
Arrived early about 11am,luckily the owner had cleaned our 2 bed apartment and it was ready.

We booked the smallest and cheapest available room (the double studio). When we arrived, finding our keys and room was very easy.
The room was small but very clean - the bedding smelt very fresh. We also saw a family studio which was bigger and again very clean and pleasant.
I asked to upgrade our room as I wanted a bit more space (the prices are very reasonable and I was happy to pay more). However when the owner and Thora heard it was the last leg of our honeymoon, they upgraded us to a 3 bed

Alfred was very friendly and helpful in arranging Flybus booking to make our stay pleasant as possible.
Room is well equipped to make simple hot meals with cooker and microwave oven.
Rooms are clean, no regular room service as it is a serviced apartment.
Bathroom is large compared to larger hotels we have stayed in here.

Great location, within walking distance of everything. Hallidor, the resident manager was amazing. Friendly and informative, anything we needed he provided if possible. I had a studio and it was perfect for me and my fiance'. Nice and cozy, the kitchen was fully stocked with all cookware and utensils, microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. The grocery store, Bonus, is literally at the corner and across the street. Can't wait to go back next year!!
