  I'd like to start by saying what wonderful owners the couple who run Smáragata Rooms are. They are very friendly, welcoming and will do their very best to accommodate your (reasonable) needs. The property is in a sleepy, quiet residential street but is by no means in a bad location - infact, it's excellent. The bsí bus station is literally around the c - Iceland was fantastic! The countryside was unique, and we especially enjoyed the Golden Circle tour, and the Blue Lagoon. Our Smaragata 1-bedroom apartment with kitchenette and private facilities was close to the city bus terminal, and an easy 10-15 min walk to the city and major attractions. The owners were friendly and very helpful.

  The owners of the guesthouse are very friendly, and kept the rooms very clean. There is always someone cleaning the bathroom and vacuuming the hallways. The kitchen is also good, as is the dining room. The bathrooms are kept clean and well-stocked. Each room is equipped with a sink, drain stopper, and soap. We originally booked a double bedroom, but were upgraded To a larger room as we were staying for close to 8 days. They even lent me a hair dryer and straightner when mine blew out.   - Our host Thorey was extremely welcoming and helpful; offering lots of recommendations and guidance - We stayed in an apartment separate from the primary guesthouse, which was quite large and comfortable - Both the guesthouse and the apartment are easy walking distance into city center (for people who are accustomed to walking) - Both the guestho... vad folk säger » use and the apartment are far enough from the city center that noise is not a problem (as we understand it can be downtown) - It is easy to day trip o - We rented the studio apartment for a week. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.

  Very nice hosts! We felt really great at the place. It was clean, modernly designed. The room was big and the bed comfy :) Internet was working ok. Possibility to use the kitchen, breakfast was good. 5min walk to the city center and the BSI bus station. - Wonderful host family! And the room was very spacious.

  We arrived early, unannounced, and were warmly welcomed and shown to our room even though it was not quite ready. One of the owners proceeded to put the duvets and pillowcases on the bed while we chatted with her, just as a friend might do with a house guest. They really took care of us even though we were only there overnight. As other - Good clean and warm guesthouse. Very warm, casual and homely welcome from owners Edda and Runar. Very clean, comfortable and warm room with good fast wifi Internet. Breakfast buffet incredibly good, and they will accommodate you if you need some extra rest in the morning. Edda and Runar very helpful in general when I needed to find somewhere in the city or arrange anything. They also arranged a great Golden Circle tour for me with pickup from the door; I was even provided with packed lunc
