Staff were very friendly and helpful. The downstairs rooms were lovely, it's easy to see what a great house the building must once have been. The room was excellent value for money, especially as the price included breakfast, and the location is good, only 10 mins walk down the hill into Bath. Don't let your satnav take you through the scary backs

V friendly staff - good setting up the hill from the city but with a fine view from upper floors - bedroom was functional clean comfortable with a v powerful shower - and although the decor was a little tired and dated it added to the overall feel of an old English hotel from years ago - so whilst that could seem negative in fact it added to the fun of the one night stay.

The hotel was lovely. The setting was beautiful, the rooms were spacious, attractive and very clean. The whole setting had a wonderful atmosphere. My husband and I just had a wonderful couple of nights at Oldfields.
What made it so special was how friendly the staff are - making us tea/biscuits on arrival and when we got back from a long day out the following afternoon, and giving us helpful info on Bath (where to go, where to eat out etc.).

We enjoyed a free up-grade (which is always a good start). The whole
set-up is quite relaxing and compact in that all facilities were around
a private car park. The annex room (honeymoon suite as it turned out)
was a lovely sitting room with bathroom downstairs and mezzanine
bedroom -very enjoyable. The full English breakfast was well prepared
and very tasty. Good range of cereals, fruit juices, etc., coffee
served in a cafatierre. Staff well presented in a themed uniform ad all
very pleasant.

This was our third stay at The Griffin - and I am sure we will stay there again:
staff are always very cheerful, helpful and welcoming;
location is great for exploring Bath - near station as we travel by train and central for shops, theatre, etc.
Breakfast is fine, as are the bar snacks and range of beers and wines. -

We have stayed before and the standards have varied but we were very comfortable. Warn against over zealous staff. We were challenged for "running" on the first morning. - room decor was lovely with a clear view over the cathedral.The food was of very good quality and reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and helpful
