Torquay Hôtels

Our stay at Linden House was first class. We were there with a large group of friends so I was able to look in all of the rooms. Without exception the accommodation is beautiful. The quality of fittings, furnishings and decor is superb. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts and were made to feel very special throughout our stay. The huge garden is a suntrap and a true asset to this 'hotel' and we spent several hours sitting out together on the steamer chairs enjoying the perfume of the flowers - Edward

Excellent Gem of a B&B. 5 star all the way. Would definitly recommend and would stay there again. Proprietors Helen and Phil are fantastic. Made you feel very welcome. On arrival we were met by Helen who showed us our room, No9. Great room, lots of windows over looking the garden, large room with lots of storage space also a safe. We stayed for one night in the Hotel Peppers in August 2009. The hotel is in a superb location being only a few minutes walk to the town centre and seafront. The hotel itself is not close to any noisy bars so we had a good nights sleep. There is only a few parking spaces at the hotel but an overflow car park about a two minutes walk away offers plenty of parking. Just had a Two night stay at the Grand. We were expecting to have a relaxing stay around the pool,not so,the changing rooms were dirty and the ladies were worse, according to my wife,very smelly and dirty floor.very disappointed!!! and only used it Once. We booked dinner for 7.15,still there at 9.30PM waiting for our dessert!!!when it did arrive it was just OK certinly not worth the wait. Restaurant service slow bhoweverstaff were very polite. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avenue Park. What a warm friendly welcome we had from Sandra and Keith who made us feel totally at home and gave us all the information we needed to see the local area in the short time we had. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and roomy with everything we needed. The food was delicious and we really looked forward to our breakfasts which were excellent and very tasty, really setting us up for the whole day. Avenue Park is - Carl

The accommodation was fab! It was clean tidy and extremely spacious. The room was decorated to a very high standard, with a big bathroom. Hotel owners were more than pleasant and helpful, were really welcoming, and pleasing. We had only booked for one night and when we left in the morning after a top class breakfast we were still debating coming home for my partners work, but we decided it was so brilliant that we wanted to stay on. We have stayed in many hotels and B&B's around the UK and the Cleveland is definitely up there with the best. Driving up to the Hotel, we were pleased to see that the garden was very well kept and there were some lovely hanging baskets and beautiful Bonsai trees, all looking very heathly and well looked after. A good omen for the rest of the hotel? Yes! The owners of the Cleveland, Jane and Wayne, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There is a bar/lounge area, where you can sit - Steve

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 night stay and found this hotel to be lovely. As with most hotels there is good and bad but in this case the good far out weighs any bad. Both Simon and his wife were very welcoming. The room (7 - top floor) was a good size and en suite, although on the small side was perfectly adequate with very good shower. The double bed was very comfortable and even though we are used to a king size, slept perfectly well in it. TV with Freeview provided. Breakfast - Eric

Stayed with some friends for a weekend getaway. Good value from the Best Western website. Friendly staff (especially Terry Cornish), good food (especially Breakfast) and great location. Our room on the top floor was a bit cold but to be fair we didn't mention it to reception so there may have been a remedy. All in all would definitely recommend. - Robin

My partner and I arrived at the beautiful hotel to be greeted by Chris and Robert who were lovely, very friendly and helpful. This is rather an odd review in many ways to write as my partner and I only enjoyed a very short stay at the Haytor. Through my own massive ineptitude I had reserved the stunning Queen Anne room a full two weeks later than the date of our arrival! Chris and Robert were needlessly apologetic and told us that they were fully booked for the duration of our stay. They then - Pauline

I had a really lovely stay at the Imperial and....we also had excellent weather! Everything about the hotel was fine. The location perfect,the room was lovely- a twin deluxe sea view. The balconies are really large and the views are wonderful. All in all I could not fault this hotel,and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly which is not always the case these days. The hotel had functions on both nights we were there, and it was very very busy,but the staff remained efficient and friend - Robert
