Great hotel with friendly staff. The family room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was superb (best porridge I've ever tasted!) Lunch was freshly prepared and good value for money. All round a great stay and we would definately return. Tastefully decorated rooms with good facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of quality food at breakfast and lunch.Staff were really friendly. They helped us choose the best places to visit. The location of the hotel was very good close to tube.

It is off a one-way minor street, and clear directions with a clear map would have helped us find it much more quickly. Also the pricing misled us: all the other places we looked at quoted costs per room per night; the Salisbury quoted per person per night, so we ended up paying twice what we had budgeted for. Breakfast just poor average,burnt bacon the first morning.Waiting staffv pleasant.Kitchen floor was littered with dirty cloths and food residueon each occasion I passed the door and glanced in.Lovely room,surfacescould have been cleaner.No real bar in the hotel. no real bar,. This hotel is a 'seasoned' hotel. If you are looking for a modern, new hotel with lots of amenities, this is not it. But the rooms are clean, comfortable and the location is ideal. The bathroom floor was not clean when we arrived and not clean during our stay (hairs on the floor). The bathroom was also small and cramped: the floor wet after a shower, and the toilet-paper almost on your lap when on the toilet. Still ok though.The music from the restaurant was very noisey first thinkg in the morning. No European adapters,the one in bathroom didn`t work. Sloppy housekeeping.Light bulbs missing or not working.Poor bedmaking. very poorly designed bathrooms. put into wrong room initially but this was resolved very quickly and the rest of the stay was very pleasant. room above kitchen. The superior room that we booked was small, the bath room was very small and only had a shower. Furthermore, due to the traditional windows there were drafts in most of the rooms and the breakfast room was badly affected by the cold.

- We are located off the A7, the main route into the city of Edinburgh. There is limited off-street parking available for our guests.

By Bus:
We are situated on a main bus route, and the buses you can take from Princes Street or North Bridge (around the corner from Waverley Station/foot of Princes Street) are: 3, 5, 7, 8, 31, 37, 37A, and 49. Please get off at the first bus stop on Minto Street and turn left (towards the traffic lights) when you step off the bus. We are just around the corner on the left-hand side of Salisbury Road.
