I chose this guesthouse because of the beautiful flowers in the photos and the fact that it is connected to a women's cooperative. I couldn't have made a better choice. I was in Mardin to consider the possibility of pursuing dissertation research related to the local linguistic situation. The owners were very gracious hosts. The food they prepared was the most memorable meal I had the entire trip! Jale's cooking was incredible! The hummus that she made was the best! I can't stop raving about the food!
The Konak was definitely interesting. It was nice to stay in a traditional house and actually get to interact with the owners. I really felt like we were welcomed as guests of the family and not just transient guests.

Great position, close to Mt Nemrut. We enjoyed dinner at the Pension which is also good value. Rooms are simple but clean & warm.
Mt Nemrut is great to visit & worth the climb... We read before hand it was going to be cold & we were prepared... It really, really is cold with the day we visited a sharp wind.... Cover your ears, take a sleeping bag... What ever it takes. Particularly if staying for sunset. As soon as you stop walking it's incredibly cold.

It's set in the old streets . Very atmospheric . We booked the suite and it was a huge rustic room with a really Turkish feel . The balconies set around the internal courtyard were great . It felt very safe and the staff would do anything to help you . I forgot my shampoo and one of the staff went to the shop for me ! Fantastic value for money that's for sure
