The old city of Mardin ended up being one of the best places we visited in Turkey and the hotel likewise one of the best we stayed in. The hotel is situated in Mardin town centre. From several rooms, terraces and the breakfast room there are great views over Mesopotamia. Rooms are spacious, very clean, good bath rooms, heating, TV, WiFi and some have a balcony. The breakfast buffet was very good. Staff was helpfull and could speak English or German. The hotel offers a car with an experienced driver for 60 Euros a day plus fuel and lunch for the driver. We strongly recommed to use this service as it is difficult for foreigners

I chose this guesthouse because of the beautiful flowers in the photos and the fact that it is connected to a women's cooperative. I couldn't have made a better choice. I was in Mardin to consider the possibility of pursuing dissertation research related to the local linguistic situation. The owners and staff of the guesthouse were so incredibly helpful in connecting me to people, that I can't imagine the difference had I not stayed there. Additionally, I observed that they took special care of

The staff were excellent. The owner was gracious, friendly, and
informative. Yusef, the driver/guide for guesthouse tours and local

I would suggest considering theirs.

Aslan, the owner, was courteous and generous in greeting us. He gave us
a choice of the top floor rooms and offered to send one of his
assistants to help transfer our luggage from the previous hotel. With
his knowledge of the region and, given existing winter road conditions,
we took one of tours offered by the guesthouse and conducted by Aslan
himself. With some of the travel warnings for the south-east Turkey, his
presence made us feel secure. We had considered going alone but are

Great position, close to Mt Nemrut. We enjoyed dinner at the Pension which is also good value. Rooms are simple but clean & warm.
Mt Nemrut is great to visit & worth the climb... We read before hand it was going to be cold & we were prepared... It really, really is cold with the day we visited a sharp wind.... Cover your ears, take a sleeping bag... What ever it takes. Particularly if staying for sunset. As soon as you stop walking it's incredibly cold.
