We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. On checking in, the receptionist apologised because we were kept waiting for about 30 seconds! Then we were offered an upgrade to a Club room for 50EUR per night extra. As the rate we booked didn't include breakfast, this in effect paid for itself. I'd give it 4 and a half stars in terms of comfort and service. The room was very nice. A huge bed (2m wide), comfortable, coffee machine, nice bathroom, etc. The hotel's swimming pool is one of the biggest hote - Kim

Nice hotel in all aspects; clean and comfortable at a good price. Good restaurants within a short walking distance. Staff very friendly and courteous (especially Umu)! Breakfast was plentiful with a good assortment of breads, cheeses, vegetables, drinks, etc.. Only negative I can think of is the cost of Raki at the hotel bar...look at the prices before you order drinks from/at the bar. - Ian

My cousin and I met in Turkey for a girl's getaway and had a marevelous experience in Izmir. The Residence Comfort offered spacious rooms with lots of amentities (though we didn't get the complimentary fruit and sodas like another visitor). After Izmir, we visited Selcuk and appreciated the Residence Comfort even more--especially the wonderful shower, since our Selcuk hotel had no water pressure and I couldn't wash my hair for three days. We were leaving on a late afternoon flight from Izmir and decided we would travel back from Cesme and have an overnight stop in Izmir so the transfer was short but smooth to the airport. The hotel organised a transfer that took us to the airport in plenty of time but it was the attention and helpfulness of the staff at the Beyond which made this a most welcome stage on our holiday rather than just a mere airport stop over. I stayed here in August with my two children and it was a really enjoyable experience. The staff may were all very friendly and extremely accommodating with the children (young 7 year old twins). All the staff, from the bell boy who helped with our bags, to the concierge and the restaurant staff were all extremely pleasant and friendly. We were stuck with having to take our holiday during the summer when many places in the sun are awash with tourists. After a week in Istanbul we landed in Izmir; and this proved an excellent choice. The feel of this modern city is relaxed and friendly - no touts and no tourists (they're moslty up around Cesme), As many of the locals were also away, there was none of the noisy busyness we'd heard there could be. The hotel has a bit lack of taste in the reception area mixing up "old egiptian" glasses with "romans" paintings on the wall, Gioconda in the lift and so on, but the rooms are spotless. Never seen so rich and great breakfast. With a little tip all the staff of the hotel will make you feel super happy and welcome helping you out in any need and doing exceptions to start breakfast, airport transfert and so on.....
