a choice of the top floor rooms and offered to send one of his
assistants to help transfer our luggage from the previous hotel. With
his knowledge of the region and, given existing winter road conditions,
we took one of tours offered by the guesthouse and conducted by Aslan
himself. With some of the travel warnings for the south-east Turkey, his

I chose this guesthouse because of the beautiful flowers in the photos and the fact that it is connected to a women's cooperative. I couldn't have made a better choice. I was in Mardin to consider the possibility of pursuing dissertation research related to the local linguistic situation. The staff were friendly and helped as much as they could with their limited English. There was a bar right across the street and another one about a three minute walk away. We had walked for hours trying to find another one!
