- The hotel is in an extremely good location for tourists, very close to many attractions - Metro station at 300 m (Barceloneta) - Train station right across the street (30 m) (Estacio Franca) - Rooms are very clean and maintained clean every day - Enough space in the room, perfect shower, toilet, etc. Every basic facility is as it should be. - The beds are large and comfortable. - Plenty of extra blankets if you are cold. - Staff is very friendly. - Even after checkout you may leave your lugga.
all reviews » Absolutely perfect location in between the beach, harbour and el Born, and a 10 minute walk to la Rambla. Very clean hotel, great beds, spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, friendly and very helpful 24/7 reception. It's perfect for a city trip due to its location as you can easily go home, drop off ur stuff and head out again. Also awesome for going to the beach which is merely a 10minute stroll away. There are many little restaurants right near the hotel where u can get amazing breakfast. Definite. This hostel is extremely convenient to Barcelona Zoo, Parque de la Cuitavella and is located opposite the main railway station and about a ten minute walk from La Rambla. There is a small supermarket next door and cafe-bars and restaurants within 2 mins walk. It was immaculately clean and the staff although not fluent in English could not have been more helpful. Each room is set in a group of 4/5 with separate key entry which made it more secure. Great location, very clean room. We were 4 nights in room with share bathroom, but it wasn't any problem, the room and bathroom with toilet was clean. They cleaned every day. Was good to sleep, any noises from the others rooms and from street (just normal noise of the city). Staff was helpful, all days they let us to use their private fridge. I really recommend this hostel, good quality for the price. The hostel is located in El Born an area which is heavily populated with great bars and restaurants and it is in close proximity to the beach. We stayed in a private twin room with own bathroom and although the room wasn't amazing it was very clean and comfortable with a little balcony. There is no aircon or tv however there is a fan. I highly recommend it for its great location. Location, Value for money. I was in the city for the marathon so was excellent location for getting to that event. Close to Barconoletta subway station and walkable to the beach and zoo. Not too far to walk up to the Juamme area, Picasso museum, bars cafes etc. The room was basic but comfortable, the desk was useful. Sitting area downstairs is quite nice. 24 hour front desk with secure access. There weren't many people there so we never had to wait for the shared bathroom facilities. I loved the fact that the beach was only a 7 minute walk away and that the reception had a 24h open service. The location of this hostel is just ridiculously good! I will stay here on my next travel to Barcelona, no doubt!. We had a room with shower, huge bed, huge window, the room was quite spacey and clean. It is wonderful for a good night's sleep. It is a quite, nice part of the city. Bus turistic stop is very close by. Personnel very friendly, I forget mi ipod on the room when I checked out, but I leave my bag the day, when I came to drop it they gave me all the stuff that I have left on the room. Thanks!!!. The hotel is near to everything, pubs, gothic barri, shopping and restaurants. The metro is just the opposite and the tourist bus syopped just outside the city. Very good price!. The rooms were a little small but not a negative as the beds were very comfortable..my only other thought is that there was no outside space for relaxing in or for those who smoke..standing at the front door not very attractive to Hostel..however, there was some renovation taking place on the floor above my room and on the roof area..not a problem due to my stay being outside the normal tourist season..but hopefully this will include this type of space!. The only thing I missed in this hostel is just that they didn't have kettle in rooms or in reception-room. It could be really nice to have possibility to make tea or coffe. They have coffe machine, but it wasn't good. The lift is tiny and you do have to go up some stairs before getting to it but not enough of an issue. The whole entrance, counter is a bit grim like from a terminator movie. The shower could be a bit cleaner, but the toilet/bathroom was almost always very clean. Water gets everywhere when you use the shower, however. Wifi up in the rooms was spotty, but works fine downstairs. I did not like the beds, they were a little bit too hard. Other than that our stay at Hostel Nuevo Colon was just amazing!. We had to drag the suitcase up the stairs (one flight of stairs), but it wasn't a big problem. Limited warm water and water flooding in the shower. They started cleaning rooms about 9.00 in the morning. Because of this it was noisy and you couldn't sleep late easily. The only thing we missed was a kettle ;) also its a shame wifi is not available in the rooms (just corridors) but that is not that important. less space in room... The outside of the building is off putting. Smell of smoking in the lounge. Some staff can't speak English. Be aware that no safe avaliable (although it is declared), no fridge, no shampoo or shower gel, poor window view, the light is only semi-dark in the room, only one power point avaliable near the bad. In general, everything is good. Listed points doesn't annoy. Wi-fi signal in the rooms is poor (it's OK in the halls and other shared areas, though). Im ok with everything. In order to get internet, I had to go outside the room into the hall. construction undergoing so a bit noisy in the mornings. No shampoo or bath gel. I asked for a full bed but got twin. The bath curtainseems old and not really clean. Nothing. you might feel less comfortable when having noisy neighbours. The walls are thin and the street is quite busy, however, it is nothing you can't get over. The interior rooms are not nice at all, ok, but you don't want to stay in the hotel room at all, just sleep and out. In summertime it's horrible because you only have a fan and interior windows don't help a lot. Ask for a exterior room already when making the booking. The staff is not very flexible. room...unimaginably tiny room.and you can hear every noise outside the door.and the closet smells like something molding..well,after all i think it's a little worthless the price. A bit stuffy in the room. Not easy to locate, entrance to building is off putting. no A/C and weak wi-fi signal on the 4 floor. Tiny room (prison cell), only the beds and small dresser. Do not even have chairs. The view from the window like in the elevator shaft - a window overlooking the yard, the size of a coin! Well apogee - a complete lack of sound insulation as such! Another huge drawback - the hostel has no kitchen at all. Extremely noisy bad sound isolation, don't go there if you planned to sleep or have sex. We asked double bed and got twin. Unconfortable bed. Too expensive for that.. The room is basic, but consider the price we pay. It's ok. Inspite ot the fact that the room has been cleaned every day, there were foreign hair in our private bathroom. These hair were getting not less but even more during our stay. So the room maid made the floor only wet instead of removing dirt. There were bugs in the hostel and my eye bit by one of them at first night. I had to go to doctor for it.Bathroom and rooms were small. Staff was unfriendly. Rooms, bathroom and shower were not clean. İt's very expensive as its uncomfortableness. wifi is too bad that we couldn't even use it. No Tv in the room, also i booked the room for couple and a child but when i went there it seems that they have only booking for a single person and i had to pay more which i didnt face in other hotels from letsbookhotel.com. Old hotel Ugly interior. Being woken by insensitive cleaner at 6am. Very hot Very small rooms. Rude staff, speaking poor English and hardly understanding basic principles of serving clients, small toilet(1 sq m), old and dirty showers, rooms remind hospital in old ussr, might refuse accepting credit card. Real value is 3 times less than advertised.
