It is an excellent boutique hotel in a very good location. Everything is close- the Hermitage, Nevsky prospect, the Dome etc. Staff is very friendly, extremely helpful and polite. I'd like to commend Vasili,- an exceptionally professional receptionist. The hotel is full of character, decorated with taste which becomes the old building in the grand part of St. Petersburg. Very clean, has around the clock self-service stand of coffee and tea in the lobby, good internet connection.

The hotel is situated very centrally at a walking distance from sights and metro stops. The interior is beautiful, the paintings in passages and rooms a nice touch. The otel design is unique. Paintings everywhere is a very good idea. Staff is friendly. Location is perfect, just near to the Kazan Kathedral, every important place of St.Pet. is on a wailikng distance and Nevski Street is nearby. Contrary to some negative comments, my room was silent. The Anchikov has only a few rooms and the staff really treat all of their guests like a kings and queens. From the minute I arrived to the minute I left the staff did everything to make my stay a pleasurable one. For example, I had problems getting my rail tickets confirmed online and was about to purchase new tickets if the staff had not worked
