Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and facilities. We appreciated iron and desk in our room, so as heated floor in the bathroom. We had superior room: spacious, with 2 windows looking to the Moika river. Very calm. Hot and cold water with tea@coffee on every floor. I travelled with 83 years old mother and normally had dinner at the restaurant of the hotel, so 20% discount for meals for guests was pleasant addition:-) Love the carefully selelcted details in design, .
all reviews » It is an excellent boutique hotel in a very good location. Everything is close- the Hermitage, Nevsky prospect, the Dome etc. Staff is very friendly, extremely helpful and polite. I'd like to commend Vasili,- an exceptionally professional receptionist. The hotel is full of character, decorated with taste which becomes the old building in the grand part of St. Petersburg. Very clean, has around the clock self-service stand of coffee and tea in the lobby, good internet connection. the hotel is in a perfect spot , it is only steps to the hermitage . You can walk to any of the major city sites from the hotel. The staff were amazing . The breakfast in their cute little restaurant was very good. The rooms are spacious and well appointed . The windows open and the beds very comfortable. They even have a three bedroom family room with a kitchen. I would highly recommend staying here. book early it fills up quickly. It was close to some excellent resaurants. The staff were very helpful when we arrived with passport/visa information and throughout the course of our stay. The ability to use the wifi and then send information regarding tickets etc to reception for printing was an asset. We had an early morning departure and the night staff were punctual helping with the baggage and just as friendly and as the day staff. The travel breakfast supplied was varied and tasty being packed in an easily manageable carry bag. Outstandingly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly reception staff. Perfect location, close to Hermitage, Russian Museum, Church on the Spilled Blood, Nevsky Prospekt etc. Excellent breakfast buffet. A la carte restaurant menu has range and quality far above what would be expected and gives hotel guests a 20% discount which makes it very affordable. My 'economy single' room was very small but comfortable with excellent bathroom/shower facilities. The location was great. You could walk to the Hermitage in 5 minutes pretty much traffic-free. The hotel room was comfortable and you could open a window which was terrific because we found the room was too hot for us. The room itself was very pleasant, with a very high stud and plenty of room for luggage. Loved the two big, high windows with an outlook over the canal to attractive old buildings on the other side. Seemed very light and airy. We stayed in a comfort double room with a river view. The room and the bathroom are spacious and cozy. The ceilings are high, and the windows are huge. The room was equipped with all the necessary appliances - bath robes, slippers, shampoos and shower gels, a hair drier, an ironing board and a safe. Free wi-fi is also available. The location is superb - the Palace Square is right around the corner. The Pushkin's apartment is next door. Everything was great. Situation of Pushka in historical centre is very convenient, you see Dvortzovaya ploschad when you go out. The next building is the place where famous Russian poet Pushkin died. Breakfast is tasty and there's lot's of food! Room was cozy and clean, we slept like babies. Staff was very helpful, they answered questions about hotel and about the city, and helped us to find information about places of our interest. The balcony which we paid a lot of money for. None of the above words describe the hotel. Although we had a lovely view from our verandah the actual room was not luxury. The towels were thin. There were very poor toiletries. The shower curtain was not clean, the furniture was mediocre . There was only one chair in the room. The bed however was very comfortable. This is a great little hotel in a fantastic location with an awesome, friendly, and helpful staff. There is a good breakfast included. The two young concierge men are very pleasant and helpful. The canal boat tours load in front of the hotel and you could walk to many of the main attractions. The Hermitage is a few minute walk. The staff could speak English very well. The staff was very helpful with places of interest to visit. They were fantastic when we were running late to catch the Sapsan Train to Moscow. They send the driver with our luggage to fetch us along the road to safe time. We would have missed the train if they did not do that. The price is pretty high, comparing to the same hotels in Europe, but for Sankt-Petersburg (or Moscow) it's normal. The standard room was somewhat small, but high ceiling made it feel OK. One thing which everyone needs to know is that there is no direct entrance from the hotel to the restaurant, you have to step out and into the next block. In winter you have to be prepared to go outside to get your breakfast. the internet was a bit spotty. The evening meal was disappointing. The breakfast in the adjoining building was really poor and the room was a bit cramped. Hated the traffic generally in St Petersburg and the city did not seem very pedestrian friendly, despite the hoards of people on foot. The pillows are extremely uncomfy. The breakfast was very poor relative to the cost of the room. We were charged for an espresso coffee after spending 12000 for a room. We felt that was very poor hospitality and manners for the hotel. The hotel should have had fresh juice and fruit as well as a higher standard of all food. Very disappointing for us. The only negative is that when you open the window, it is quite loud at times and at late times. But what could you expect when the White Nights keep the sky blue until midnight. All was excellent. We had a room on the Moika canal, so it was nice to look at but it was a little noisy with the tour boats running until 2am. Otherwise, hotel was much appreciated and very nice. While I was not unhappy, I think that the breakfast buffet could use some upgrading. The basic buffet is the same every day. I stayed at the hotel for 6 days, so after day 3, I was bored. I would suggest that the offerings be rotated to provide more variety on a day to day basis. nothing. Nothing. Not the luxury I was expecting for the money. You have to go outside to get to the breakfast room which often times doesn't have enough seats for all the guests. Strangely, even though we had an expensive & spacious room (actually 2 rooms on the top floor, it did not any windows. Somewhat disconcerting, but really did not spoil our enjoyment of the hotel & city. Only there to sleep. The lift was very small & extremely slow - take the stairs - much better for you... The furnishing of the room was very old fashioned - dark heavy brocade everywhere and there was a very strange arrangement with the bath which had a window into the room. It was difficult to sleep because of the noise all night from boats, music and loudspeakers on the canal in front of our room. We were there during the period of the white nights. Suggest that you ask for a back room if you visit during that period. The hot water took a while but was great when it arrived. If touring St Petersburg it is not a place you can be spontaneous even in the off peak tourist season. Book ahead for the things you want to do. The fact that there was no printer connected to the guest/lobby computer for printing boarding passes. Nice breakfast but the tv was always blaring the news. Hard to hold a conversation and not conducive to interacting with others. Noise level uncomfortable. The family room has only a small window in the living room that can be opened, so there is no view at all from the room. The bedroom has no window at all. there was too hot in room, and design of the room was strange. Have forgotten to change towels. Nothing!. Sound isolation between rooms is not great for the price. Two separate blankets on one big bed is not comfortable. And it would be fantastic if the breakfast was a bit longer (until 12 or 13) for night people :). Breakfast was the same every day :-( The decor of the rooms not very attractive - paint on the walls too dark:-( Rooms were overheated ;-(. I didn't dislike anything. not a thing!. First offered room was very small and dark. For a few dollars more we upgraded to a canal view with a much larger room and plenty of light.
