Hotels near Saint Michael's Castle

We stayed at Pio in August 2007 and thought it was great. The rooms are very clean and modern, and our room had a small ensuite. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful (hello Olga!!) and spoke excellent english plus the breakfast that was included was excellent. They also have a laptop with internet access available and offered a very cheap laundry/ironing service. As the earlier reviewer said, the entrance way to the building and stairway are both pretty grotty, but this is typical - Mary

I was staying in this hotel for 2 days. I was pleased that hotel exceeded all my expectations. It is situated in the center, but there was very quite, As for me rooms very comfortable and clean. I like St-Petersburg very much, very beautiful city, There are a lot of sites and marvelous Hermitage,)) but the weather sometimes very wet. - William

Once again, I stayed in this hotel for work while visiting out factory. I think the hotel is great, it is friendly, clean, rooms are not large but pleasant and comfortable. The food was very nice; especially the fish and portions were large! The location is in the quiet street, overlooking very industrial looking business centre. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't have a problem with being asked for money, but then I am originally from Moscow. Russia, in particular Moscow doesn’t rea - Charles

Nevsky Grand is a very nice hotel, the staff is friendly, helpful and serviceminded. It was easy to check in and out. The rooms are small and the bathroom is very small but everything worked perfectly and we didn´t come to Saint Petersburg to linger in the hotel all day long. Breakfast was also good, lots of things to choose between every day. The location is really perfect! From Pulkovo airport we travelled with bus 13 to metrostation Moskovskaya, went 7 stops to metrostation Nevsky Prospect an - David

Great position within walking distance of all the main sights . Staff were hepfull, our room on the top floor was fairly spacious and bright but no airconditioning, our friends room on th 4th floor was tiny but had air conditioning , however weather was not too warm so A/C not essential for us . We booked a ballet at the Marinsky ( 25 minute walk away but it was daylight when we walked back , might be safer in a taxi if dark )which was stunning and well worth the effort ( book on line direct wit - William
