The staff were fantastic - friendly and helpful. The location was right in the city and it was an easy walk and elevator ride down to Lambton Quay, the waterfront, supermarket, shops etc. I especially liked the fact that given we had preschool-age children, the rooms weren't adorned with things they could 'play' with (wreck!). It was exactly what we expected and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The makeup wipes in the bathroom were an excellent idea too! Parking was onsite and visib.
all reviews » It exceeded my expectations. For being in the heart of the city, it was great value for the money. I was worried it would be the least of places we stayed in NZ. Instead it was the nicest. My daughter and I enjoyed the access to the pool and exercise equipment, and the lift to downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was most comfortable with a great kitchen, and our own washer / dryer. We would certainly recommend it to our friends. Everything...we were so impressed with the location, super close to town, the cleanliness, the whole set out of the room and facilities was great. And it was very quiet compared to other places we have stayed in Wellington, and trust me, we have stayed at alot!! Well done to the management and staff. Very satisfied travellers, will definitely be booking again and will be highly recommending!!. We liked having an apartment with a kitchen and living area in the centre of town at a very affordable price. The apartment was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. My husband left behind his mouthguard at the apartment and rang the next day about it. Yes, they had it safe and sound! We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends. My whanau and I enjoyed our stay our room accomadated our needs and the location was convenient the staff were friendly I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to the cleaner my children and I like to use two towels each the cleaner did not hesitate to give us more towels and was very friendly we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The staff were brilliant, really welcoming and helpful. We arrived very late and left late. Nothing was a problem. Location is a hidden gem. Parking was crucial for us. After advising the Hotel in advance that we would be arriving before their check in time and could we have access to our room, while they were unable to confirm our request , I am pleased to report that they did accommodate us ahead of the book in time. Location: Heart of Wellington's CBD, offered lots of site seeing opportunities. They're right along the #91 Airport Flyer route, so getting in and out was so easy. This was a great stay. I had a deluxe studio and it was so roomy and comfortable. It even had a washing machine and dryer. Gilmer apartments was really close to town too and yet away from most of the noise and bustle. Central location. Very clean and comfortable room with modern facilities. Building didn't even look like blowing over in Wellington gale. Staff very efficient and helpful. No lounge or bar facilities was about the only negative but such facilities were near by. Only one thing I didnt like was that the bed was too soft. The only thing I didn't like so much was the size of the shower and its elevation but it was a minor concern to me. I was thinking more of older or bigger people. Location fronts on to a service lane way and requires using a nearby car park lift or some physical effort to reach from the main city streets. Location is up a steep hill and directions could be better. nothing. Small details like the full-length mirror was not hung on the wall but instead sitting on the floor; one of the cabinets was missing a door; there was some sort of lamp cover in the hot water cabinet; and there was a slight smell of something (not sure what, it was very faint and not super unpleasant but not pleasant either) when we first entered. All little things. nothing. it was kind of dark, with only one small window in the living area. it was a bit disconcerting to have to walk through car parks to get to downtown wellington. Noise at night like tyres scretching. car parking ! nowhere to put rental car !. Would have liked some temperature control of the room. We had a room which backed onto a lane services another hotel and trucks began arriving at 4am every morning. The key mix up at front counter which led to an early morning room intrusion. There is alot of street noise and the hotel is let down by this. Perhaps the windows should be double glazed??. The sensitive smoke alarms too scared to steam iron. Had to use exhaust so could not hear tv - had only single couch so only one comfy chair. Should have a double couch then has a place for snorer to sleep. There were some noise from the street in the early morning. The parking is quite exp at $15, hence park at nearby parking for $3 per night. Only complaint was mattress was a bit soft and slid into middle a bit. Also a bit warm and didn't appear to have any aircon. No coffee maker or access to coffee. The weather, but can't blame the hotel for that!. Nothing. couldnt fault it for the price. No complimentary millk. Parking at a cost. The room near the elevator is noisy, but I was moved as soon as I asked. Shame there wasn't a coffee plunger in the kitchen.
