  We stayed at this hotek for two nights. And it was easy to walk there with our backpacks from Kyoto station. I google it then got the map from tourist information at the station and the staff just recomfirmed us how to get there. Only 15 min walk. Staff are very friendly and also allow us to leave our luggage there after check out. The staff is extremely helpful and nice (even if they have problems communicating in English), the fact that there is a common place with fridge and that you get tea and water for free and even croissants for breakfast, the cleanliness the rooms and how central the location is. We highly recommend this place for people who want to explore Kyoto and surroundings for a few days.

  Authentic Ryokan accommodation and an ideal base from which to explore beautiful Kyoto. We found the location peaceful and accessible and it was easy and safe.   Me and my girlfriend stayed for 2 nights in Kyoto, we wanted to try traditional japanese style room. But when we arrived at Ikoi No Ie it occured to us that it was the best choice apart of that what I mentioned. Spacious kitchen (with free cold drinks, coffee and tea), shared bathrooms and showers (very very clean), nice terrace and many many tips... what people say » from previous visitors. Wheter you planed your visit at Kyoto or not, just look around and you'd probably find something intresting and worth seeing. - A subway station a minute away, also very convenient to the main railway station, (15 min walk or 1 subway station away), in a true old fashioned Kyoto street. Not far to 7/11 & supermarket, we didn't eat out much as 'the right place' was a little more difficult to find (not Japanese speaking).   Although we were a bit disappointed with Kyoto sightseeing (kept getting lost), this place was the best out of all the other hotels and hostels we have stayed at. It came with lots of towels, computer, kitchen (no kitchenware), tv in the bathroom, free laundry (buy your own soap), and instructions on how to use the gadgets around the place (ac, wa... what people say » ter heater, etc.). Since we arrived there an hour early, I was only planning to leave my luggage there before checking in but no one was picking up th - The amount of space was perfect and we didn't feel cramped. The two main beds are up a ladder, which is strange and felt sort of like a clubhouse, but it was unique. When else in my life will I get to act like a kid again, right? The walk was only a few minutes from Kyoto station, which was convenient. I'm not a picky or needy traveler so it was perfect for me. Clean, efficient, comfortable, easily accessible, and we had internet access. What more do you need? All-in-all, it was a great experie
