The owners were so friendly and welcoming and made us feel so at home. We booked La Mare Elan as a stopover point both at the beginning and the end of our two week holiday, and I can honestly say that all six of us were really looking forward to staying there again and spending time with the owners again. Charming bedroom and large en suite bathroom.
Breakfast was so enjoyable - with fresh bread and pastries, home made jams and bowls of cherries and redcurrants picked from the garden. With other guests and the owners on hand throughout, it had the atmosphere of a House Party..
The previous evening on the recommendation of Madame we ate well at a hotel on the coast at Houlgate

Everything was good. We missed our evening meal but our hostess kindly brought us some food to our room. the breakfast was delicious and our hostess very friendly and kind. -

We originally booked the room with the sauna and didn't realise that it didn't have a fridge or jug etc, as we were staying five days it wasn't suitable so after one night we changed to a one bedroom apartment ith kitchen washing machine etc. This was fantastic and made our stay much more enjoyable. We had lunch here a couple of times and they ere great. The staff were helpful, weather fantastic so we made use of the lovely pool. Close to all the Normandy beaches and museums.

It's a beautiful hotel with lovely loft rooms in a nice little town. I loved that each of the 3 rooms we had was slightly different. The lobby and breakfast areas are very charming and homey. All 5 of us simply loved the place. - I liked everything about Le Lion d'Or.

Peace, comfort and beautiful view - The kitchenette was ideal for us to provide our own breakfast and to keep the beer and wine cold! We made good use of the pool, jacuzzi and steam room. The hotel is well situated for the centre of Deaville, with bars, restaurants etc.
