From the moment we stepped in to the charming courtyard, we could tell it was wonderful, and then when we stepped inside the door, we were immediately taken aback by the beautiful and warm ambience. The concierge was super friendly... Francois... we even took a photo with him before departing! The rooms were renovat - The staff was helpful and friendly, and made excellent suggestions for dining in Honfleur (especially loved Bistro des Artistes for dinner . The rooms were lovely, clean, and charming, with a spa-like decor. The hotel was well situated and it was an easy walk to shops and restaurants. It was a perfect place to stay in Honfleur.

  The owners were so friendly and welcoming and made us feel so at home. We booked La Mare Elan as a stopover point both at the beginning and the end of our two week holiday, and I can honestly say that all six of us were really looking forward to staying there again and spending time with the owners again. The rooms are lovely, the décor is very traditional French and the rooms were very clean. Th - A very warm welcome.from the owners. Charming bedroom and large en suite bathroom. Breakfast was so enjoyable - with fresh bread and pastries, home made jams and bowls of cherries and redcurrants picked from the garden. With other guests and the owners on hand throughout, it had the atmosphere of a House Party.. The previous evening on the recommendation of Madame we ate well at a hotel on the coast at Houlgate La Mare Elan is a real gem!

  This is a lovely hotel ideally situated on the outskirts of Honfleur overlooking the Seine estuary. I cannot praise it highly enough. Everything about it was perfect from the lovely room and breakfast to the superb restaurant. The on-tap beer is good quality. 10 minutes drive to restaurants / snack bars. We didn't dine there at lunchtime but it was busy then. Showers - We originally booked the room with the sauna and didn't realise that it didn't have a fridge or jug etc, as we were staying five days it wasn't suitable so after one night we changed to a one bedroom apartment ith kitchen washing machine etc. This was fantastic and made our stay much more enjoyable. We had lunch here a couple of times and they ere great. The staff were helpful, weather fantastic so we made use of the lovely pool. Close to all the Normandy beaches and museums.
