  We had stayed in the Claude Darroze hotel @20 years ago, and had one of our most memorable meals, sitting outside in their patio, under the Plane trees. Although the hotel itself has been totally upgraded since then, it had not lost its personal touch and delicious food. - An excellent hotel, well placed for touring the area around Bordeaux.   Really friendly staff. Especially the lady on reception when we arrived. She only spoke French.I am English and speak some Spanish with a little French. Still no problem.We overcame any language difficulty with humour.
