  Oh my goodness! If only we had known how wonderful this place was going to be and how amazing our hosts would be...we would have left our touring bicycles in their shed for so much longer :) From the moment we arrived - 101kms of bike riding behind us - our hosts were so thoughtful. We had a choice between the two spacious and gorgeous bedrooms so... hva folk sier » we chose the one with the large shower bathroom (rather than the one with the stunning bath-tub) so that we scrub the sun-screen and dust off). Then, - Cambellii is more than a B&B; it is the heart & soul of French hospitality and style. From the moment you enter you feel the warmth from Elizabeth & her husband. Their home is beautiful and the garden magnificent, a perfect place to sit and relax after a long drive. Elizabeth kindly recommended restaurants in the area and we chose the pizzeria Don Camillo for our evening meal (excellent). The wine bar is outstanding, with a good selection of local wines at very reasonable prices and a good ambience. The breakfast room is functional and the breakfast OK, though the coffee could have been hotter.   We had stayed in the Claude Darroze hotel @20 years ago, and had one of our most memorable meals, sitting outside in their patio, under the Plane trees. Although the hotel itself has been totally upgraded since then, it had not lost its personal touch and delicious food. - An excellent hotel, well placed for touring the area around Bordeaux.   Really friendly staff. Especially the lady on reception when we arrived. She only spoke French.I am English and speak some Spanish with a little French. Still no problem.We overcame any language difficulty with humour.
