We loved the room which was a converted priory complete with vaulted ceiling and chandelier. It was across the lane from the cathedral which was spectacular. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. It was a really quiet location with a comfortable bed. It was a great base for visiting the Somme battlefields -

The hotel is well-situated, and typical of an older french hotel. Although it looks a little tired in places, it is very clean, the rooms are a good size and the beds very comfortable. The Le Carlton is in a great location within walking distance of the train station, cathedral and city centre. The room that we had was spacious, clean and we appreciated the double glazing. The staff were amazing and I would like to congratulate them on being the most helpful, professional and pleasant people that we have dealt with. For example they went out of their way to assist us when our Somme Tour operator didn't arrive at the designated time.

Excellent, helpful staff. The location is very central, being ideally
placed to enable one to leave the car in the car park. With Paris just
over an hour away by train it was ideal. The room was lovely and the bed
extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the free newspapers and magazines and
the minibar (free) was refilled with soft drinks every morning. For four
nights it was very much 'home from home' and I expect that we
shall return.

The location is ideal for visiting the cetre. the cathedral and the university area as well as the older section of the city. Parking is reasonable as there is a speacial of 11 dollars to come and go freely for 3 days. The food is very reasonable and good value. The rooms are well arranged and have every comfort you would need (except room service for those who might require it).

Talking of Estelle, she is a lovely lady who is very eager to please and help in anyway. Breakfast was lovely, more than you can eat and the room was superb with a fantastic bathroom. Good that we were able to store our bikes inside, receptionist/owner very friendly and helpful even though English not fantastic. Right opposite station which may be convenient for some visitors, though we found it not great for finding restaurants nearby (though we may have been looking in wrong place). Very good shower. Great value for money. Overall would definitely recommend!
