Cantley House is a gorgeous building with bags of character and (when I stayed) blissfully quiet. There is an ongoing refurb programme, with completed areas finished to a high standard; the owners' love for the building is apparent.
Staff were efficient, friendly and approachable and the room well stocked with fluffy towels, robes, and the usual tea/coffee iron etc.

Proximity to train and restaurants in Reading. Power was out when we arrived due to problem in area. Staff was very helpful and someone escorted us to our room. shower/hot water great,bed I wish I could have taken home! I asked for a quiet room and I was given one in back.Thank you. The breakfast was very good,and in fact better than the one I had later in a London hotel.I chose hotel for its quality/value and the close proximity to railstation for day trips.

Reception staff very helpful and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Very good size room for price we paid. lots of fluffy white towels.Comfy bed. - Good size family room, very quiet considering how close to the motorway it is.

This is a great pub, the staff are lovelly and the accommodation has a cottage feel, wooden beams and uneaven floors. Its not fancy, it's perfect if youre walking the ridgeway. Breakfast is included, really good value and sets you up for the day. they also do a great supper (extra but very reasonably priced).

Friendly and helpful service, nice atmosphere, excellent food including evening menu which was far better than one might expect for a hotel in this price bracket. - the new management couldn't have been any better if they tried, and they did!. attention to detail, and a great, chef cooked breakfast. I'll be back.

The hotel and room were really clean and well presented, in particular the enclosed "beer garden" with heaters were a very welcome addition to the hotels facilities. I didn't stay long enough to form an opinion on the staff but from the short time I spent there the staff came across as very amiable and helpful. I would certainly recommend The Bell

The rooms were clean and comfortable, even if British sinks tend to be a
little small.
The staffers with whom we had most of our dealings, Vlad and Fillippe, were most courteous and helpful. By our second day they remembered what we liked and prepared it promptly.
And of course we liked George. How could you not?
