Midweek rates in November were very good. Conveniently located hotel near the centre with plenty of off-street parking, which a lot of places in Ambleside do not have. The bedroom was not large but adequate, the kingsize bed being comfortable. Large bathroom with spa bath. Cold buffet breakfast was extensive and very good. Pleasant helpful efficient staff.

We stayed in room 8 and it was just as amazing as the pictures we saw on here. Huge walk in shower and free standing bath tub. Very comfortable bed and astonishing view from the private balcony. Everything was excellent. I was there with my girlfriend and happy to stay there again. Special thanks to manager of the hotel. He was absolutely friendly and cares about us (he recommended to take hotel umbrella because rain could be later and he organized wonderful mini bus tour for us to the lakes). Breakfast also excellent (you could order classic English, continental breakfast and even salmon), wi-fi, TV provided but not so interesting because nature outside is very beautiful.

Very good guesthouse with very friendly and efficient staff. The double room with en-suite (£70 per night B&B) was very good value, well appointed and was very clean with high levels of local information. The breakfast was extensive with cereal, fruit juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, full English breakfast with tea/coffee and toast. Alan who co owns Melrose house with his wife Lynn could not have been more helpful. A definite recommendation for Melrose House and will tell family and friends.

The spotless room, it was ever so comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious! Plenty of choice. Ola and Peter were exceptionally friendly and cheerful and really made you feel welcome. Loved the complimentary bottle of water and biscuits that we received in our room on both days we stayed. Location is great, it is in walking distance of all the shops in Ambleside. We hadn't stayed in a B and B before but this was one of the most wonderful experiences from start to end. Ethna welcomed us very warmly and made us feel at home throughout our whole stay. Lacet House is in a great location, very close, literally to the town centre of Ambleside. The host Catherine made my 83 year old mother and I very welcome. We received old fashioned hospitality. Such a lovely place to stay where the owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They went above and beyond expectations! Great location right in the middle of Ambleside. Modern well presented rooms with very comfortable beds! We had a great choice of breakfasts and they even have parking spaces! ( rare in Ambleside). We will definitely be returning for another visit!
