Although the room was quite small it was very comfortable and was larger than a single room I had stayed in at another hotel. Sharing the bathroom was not a problem, I never had to wait and it was always clean. The location of the hotel was great, being very close to Central Park and the subway and in an area which felt very safe. Clean very comfortable beds/quiet close to subway and Central park.All staff were always helpful and very polite. Internet access very good. .

The location availed itself to many of the sights we chose to explore---Central Park, Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum or Art, etc. The neighborhood was quiet residential and very pleasant. Many restaurants within easy walking distance.All members of the staff were very friendly and helpful. All areas of the hotel were clean , and considering the age of the building, well maintained.The hotel was clean, cosy and the location in the Upper West Side was excellent. As we checked in it was a pleasant surprise that we got a room with our own bathroom although we had booked and paid for a room with a shared bathroom. Convenience of location as it was close to the Subway and 10 mins from Times Square, Good restraunts in locality too. A large size person would not fit in the shower, you had to step out of the bathroom to open the shower door. But it was nice, all tile. The towels were fluffy, but a little on the small side. View of an inside courtyard not attractive.My room was facing the 79st where the view would be nicer in spring, but the noise from the traffic in the rush hour was overwhelming. Better asking for a back room if a good long sleep is needed in the morning. No lobby, no bar. not too big room, facing the street, the crib sheet was smaller than the matress,. It was a bit rowdy close to the elevator. One staff member did not know how to explain turning the shower head. Some days I did not receive a wash cloth.The elevator. did not like my receptionist on check in. He insisted that I pay my bill in full on arrival which I was not pleased about. Surely holding my credit card details was enough? He said it was standard practise. Also the rate was not set correctly. It was 600 dollars higher than it should have been.It was all Ok but if it had been a busy time the walls are paper thin!The bathroom was very tiny and anyone who is large of girth just wouldnever get in it!. the room was very small for 2 people..Small rooms. Thin walls. Only one very slow and small elevator which is also used by staff'. Noisy accoustics - carpet in corridors would help.Not dislike exactly, but would have found a few hooks on doors useful to hang dressing gowns, wet coats etc. The hotel needs a little TLC, and the size of the room and bed was incredibly small. We didn't expect a huge room given the room rate we got, but as taxes added much more than a $100 to the final bill and you don't even get a kettle, it didn't seem worth it in the end.we had noisy rooms - windows without isolation. the room was too small, the coffee was bad, too noisy. Rooms could be more attractive. Everything is extremely small: the room, the bathroom (the shower is about 2'x2).Air conditioning was noisy, windows could be more soundproof. According to some reviews, bathrooms were shared between 2 rooms. In practice, there were 2 bathrooms on each floor. I found the hallway noise and next door bathroom noise troublesome. Carpet runners on the nice hardwood floors would help.The Front desk staff was moderately helpful but not really friendly. The room is very small and the walls are very thin, so you can hear your neighbors and whoever is using the stairs. Also there is 1 elevator and it is very very slow. You have to wait a lot for the hot water to first appear in the shower.Bathroom was incredibly small. I was sick and it wouldve been great to have a kettle in my room.The first room we were in was unbelievably small and had no hot water. There was also no business center and I had a document faxed to me that I had checked on several times and they were never able to find it. It was sent.
