Our experience was great from our reception by the doorman helping us with our bags, our greeting as we checked in and the comfort of our room. We even got a n/c upgrade. The hotel is situated conveniently to both the theatre district, lower Manhattan, and is right off the FDR at 37th. The NH Jolly Hotel and Madison Towers definitely helps to make our trip to the "City" a great experience.
all reviews » The staff. They were helpful polite and cheerful. The rooms were a lot better than expected, luxury bathrooms even in the standard rooms. The hotel itself is in a great location close to most of the tourist sites. Would definitely recommend. Location is excellent. You can come to the hotel walking from the Gran Central terminal the day you arrive. In 20 min walk you can visit all the main attractions: Times Sq, Rockefeller center, Madisson Sq Garden, Central Park, etc. The close proximity to 5th avenue shopping district,Macy's and other famous NYC main attractions like the Empire State building,Grand Central etc. The staff was very friendly & helpful at all times. Friendly staff, amazing location, the room was a lovely size with a nice big bathroom. Location was only a 10 minute walk to Times Square which is amazing for a city break to New York. Neat and clean. good traveler's stop. No frills. It was what I expected. Location was just right, easy access to transportation, restaurants, etc. Beds were big and comfy, room was very clean, sheets changed daily, bathrooms clean and new, decor was modern, good value for money. This hotel is very well located, in the center of NYC, near every facilities. I deeply recomand this hotel for a stay in NYC. I like the room, close to the most favorite places like 5 av, wall str, broadway, Empirestate building. Location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean bedding and towels maid service everyday!. you are in walking distance of most shopping & shows in new York nice quit area. The only criticism would be our room was a little warm but staff were happy to move us. The hotel rooms can do with some tea &coffee and the wireless internet service-wifi can also be complimentary whilist inside the rooms or even the entire hotel. I cannot fault this hotel in anyway. Would have liked 2 things in the room: coffee pot for early mornings and an in-room safe. Room tended to be cold, inconsistency with bathroom soaps, our bath mat disappeared for 2 days, some staff were not helpful or friendly and should not work in the service industry, tv and heating / aircon system were very old, no safe in the room, but individual safe boxes in reception. Lack of free Wi-Fi. nothing. tiny rooms and bathroom. heating pipes bang at night. very old building. Staff. Some of reception a bit surly. Long time to book in. One staff member on hand but 3 working. Had to queue 10 mins to ask simplest question. Small room, run down, not much atmosphere and overpriced compared to other hotels offering more space and more up to-date furniture and facilities for the same price. Very disappointed with The staff and supervised. They were not helpful when it came to being responsible with our belongs. As they handed out a belonging of mine to some one else and were not one bit helpful. Would put take and fault. our room was right by the elevator, no view from our room, small room... no iron in the room, didnt like the tub with no shower curtain... and found the price was expensive for what we got and the price was higher than the quote on line. too small for how much I paid. At their best, the staff was indifferent. At their worst, they were rude. Small Rooms. Room equipment and the position to the dark backyard, noisy air conditioning in the backyard, antiquated, need of an overhaul, poor breakfast with little choice. Overall no NH standard as usual. They are very rude, ignorant! They lack good hospitality service. Very ignorant bunch! From my arrival to departure I must say I wasted my money. I thought the hotel overpriced for the lumpy beds-- springs sticking in my back. I thought charging me 27 dollars a night for my clean cat -- plus taxes was a bit exagerated as they provided nothing for her. The cost ended up about 400 dollars more than was quoted. I got serveral bites which came either from the closet or the bed--spiders or bedbugs-- ?? I'm not sure but most annoying. I upgraded my room 2 levels according to your pictures on the website, and disappointed by what I received. I view was of a brick wall, there were stains on the carpet, the fridge door was broken, mold in the tub, furniture very outdated. Dirty hotel, not at all what i exspected, Last year i had a standard room ,that was new and clean, this time the room was old dirty and just completly different. aweful. Dirty place, old furniture, poor view, noisy at night we had to ask for a room change, poor breakfast, no food service at all at afternoon and night, ripped towels, rude attention at the front desk,broken and dirty tub.
