en route to Hawaii. Given room upgrade not quite a suite but corner room views both ways. Biggest chocolate strawberrys/and cake and cream ive ever seen as a special gesture and free. staff and conciege extra polite and helpful.As previous comments this is a luxury standard by which all others should be judged the besr hotel we have stayed in and weve stayed in some top ones. the hotel is steeped in history take the trouble to enquire????

If you are looking for luxurious, high class, this is not the place
for you. However, this hotel is the perfect place to stay in dc. It
has nice, basic rooms, very clean and provides all that is required.
Most importantly, it is in a great location, being very close to all
the popular tourist destinations. There is a fun bar in the lobby, and
the cafe provides a decent, well priced breakfast. I thoroughly
recommend this one.

The location was perfect. There was a subway station nearby and also taxis and buses readily available, so getting around was easy.
I happened to visit during the unfortunate government shutdown, so there was a lot that I wanted to see but couldn't. The staff was very friendly and quick to offer suggestions on what to do and see, and what was open. The housekeeping staff were amazing, cleaning my room promptly each day.

Loved the fact it was above Metro Center and around the corner from the White House, Spy Museum, Crime Museum and some high street brands plus Macy's across the street. The hotel had a great location, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, great value for money (compared to the other hotels we used on our 5 week holiday in the US) and the room was well set-out, clean and very comfortable. Great location! Very well insulated room, very quiet and clean. Very good bed. Upon arrival we asked the young lady at the desk for a nice bistro around, and she referred us to a very special place close to the hotel where we really enjoyed organic food and the most pleasant ambiance for a couple of meals. She took the time with the nicest smile.
