Getting bottel of water from the driver. Very nice touch! Free breakfast and the hotel dinner was quite good. The pool was not open and no fridge in the room for waters and juices. Pretty hard to get to JFK Airport. Not enugh coffee in room. the pool was small, cold, and hours were not conducive for use. The bathroom needed to be redone; the bed was just o.k. The shower rail was hanging off the wall which caused the water to soak the floor when using the shower. We were unfortunate enough to book the room during their renovations. We were not made aware of this when booking. We arrived off a train at North Elizabeth. I called the hotel to see if they could book a taxi for us, I was informed that the store near where I was standing could book me a taxi and was offered no other help. The heating system was noisy, the walls were thin and I could hear the guy next door snoring, and the pillows were uncomfortable and the size of decorative couch pillows. I had a hard time sleeping. The staff were very unengaged - like robots (front desk,restaurant, and snack shop). I've stayed at Crowne Plazas in other cities and the staff has always been exceptionally helpful. This was not the case at Newark. Hotel shuttle did not pick up on schedule at 1 am. I had to pay a taxi for this 10 minute ride an extra $20. They charge a $50 refundable damage deposit. This is nonsense. I have never paid a damage deposit at a hotel and will likely not return here. Parking fee. Computer fee. Didn't feel welcoming and clean. Had problem with tv and air conditioner they had to come to my room 3 times they were very helpful. But still had problem just dealed with it the next day they comped my parking Next Question is would I recommend it I do not know. Staff are pretty cold... We stay only a very short period 6 hours. But for the first sight the hotel may need renovation for the bed room. Thanks. The list price is $145, but the hotol charged $165, when I asked them why the price was wrong, the reception told me she donot know, let me ask website, and still charged me the higer price. Details and pictures shown on internet was very different,services and facilities was inadequate for the cost of rooms per night. I was very disappointed. I am very unhappy with the booking. Fees to park. The dirty carpets. The smell. The dirty gym. The missing skirting boards. The inability of the staff to do anything at all. I didn't like anything starting from staff behaviour, food, environment and overall will never go not recommend anyone. The worst hotel I have ever stayed. Staffs have been trained only how to bill the client. Even this hotel doesn't provide a bottle of drinking water.
