We received a lovely warm welcome at a beautiful country house set in stunning gardens. The property was beautifully clean, comfortable, elegant and restful, and a wonderful place to stay. Our host was charming and kind, very attentive and helpful. The breakfasts were sumptuous and the afternoon tea absolutely delicious. The house is only a short walk to Wells, with fantastic views on the way, and it was good to be able to leave the car and walk there. Thank you for a memorable stay.
all reviews » An excellent country B&B, probably one of the best we have stayed in. Wonderful attention to detail. The room was extremely confortable and well thought out. The breakfast was superb. A huge range of breads, cheeses, meats, yoghurt s etc. The grounds were a delight, full of scultures and suprises! The house over looks Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury Tor in the distance. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area. Everything about Stoberry House was top notch. Frances and Tim could not have been more helpful, from the welcome beer to maps and advice on how to get to places. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and comfortable, with every little thing thought of to make our stay memorable. The breakfasts were wonderful! The walled garden and grounds beautiful. This is a stunningly good place to stay. Absolutely everything -from tea +home baked goodies Frances greeted us with ,to the wealth of info about the surrounding beautiful area of Wells she gave us on arrival, superb room+BEST shower and a wonderful +unusual breakfast (a welcome change from the cooked English brekf ) Truly best place we stayed @ our entire trip !Highly recommended -Thank you Frances We will return :). The landlady Frances makes you feel welcome and gives guests an exceptional experience to make the most of their visit to Wells. The continental breakfast must be mentioned as a particular highlight most of which is home made, it will set you up for the week let alone the day!. Stoberry House is a stunning property and was much more than we expected. Frances provided us with a very warm welcome and showed us to our delightful rooms. Breakfast the following morning was a feast. Additionally, the walk into Wells is short and eliminates the need to drive. Regrettably, we stayed for only one night. The location is the best in Wells. This was more like a hotel as you had lounges in addition to the bedroom and all sorts of drinks (including beer, wines and spirits) available at all times. Frances and her staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Last but in no way least the fabulous breakfast!. It was a wonderful stay! Next time we will stay longer than 2 nights to enjoy the outstanding garden and the silence of nature - and of course the delicious breakfast :-) So, if you like a family owned and operated hotel and share this wonderful place with others (5 bedrooms): thats your place then. Help with directions from Tim and helpful advice on local restaurants and pubs from Frances was appreciated, also a very relaxing atmosphere. Nothing, it was all superb!. That we had not been able to stay longer and so disappointed that we changed to another establishment, as we did not check with Frances directly for availability !. Didn't like having to leave, wish we stayed longer!. Be advised not every room has a stand up shower but this did not detract from the experience. Stairs as we are both partialy disabled, and a lack of electric sockets, needed for medical equipment, and laptop, that was helped by being given an extension lead. The weather. The fact I had to cut my stay short!!!!!!!. Would have preferred a walk in shower but as we didn't request one we will know to do so next time. Faultless. Having to leave. Nothing. What is there not to like?. We only stayed one night, should have stayed longer: ). nothing. No shower in bathroom (!). Only having one night there . Booking didn't send the fax to the B&B and when we got there they weren't expecting us. We slept in a twin beds room with two single beds paired to form a double. Not acceptable in a 5 stars place. We've also been charged for the poached eggs at the breakfast (5.5£). Still thinking about it... nothing :). we did not have any issues with our stay. cold toast. zero. No Shower, bath only.

Please provide Stoberry House with your estimated time of arrival. For directions to Stoberry, please note that Stoberry Park leads off College Road, so if using a satnav it's best to put in ‘College Road’ as the destination point. Most satnavs do not recognise the postcode correctly. From Bristol or Bath enter Wells on the A39; immediately after the 30 mph sign, take the first left turn into College Road; then immediately left through the wrought iron gateway into Stoberry Park, Private Estate. At the top of the Park, bear right and follow the tar driveway into the walled garden. From London enter Wells on the A371 then B3139 through Dulcote; follow the road left then right round the Fountain Inn. At the next bend go straight through the cutting and into College Road and enter Stoberry Park, Private Estate entrance on the right.
