The hotel was excellent for the price. I felt that the photos on the website and the comments from other customers did not give an accurate picture. We would certainly stay at the Old Manor Hotel again if in the area and reccommend it without hesitation. I would change the way the hotel is portayed on the site though, we were pleasantly surprised. Absolutely fantastic Hotel, location and Rooms , Brilliant decor and really romantic. The Meals were A+ and the service was outstanding, can't wait to stay again someday. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. well done all who work there.

This was a lovely quiet hotel about 15 minutes drive outside of Bath. We stayed in room 7 which was really nice with very comfy beds. It was clean and comfortable and the bed was comfy. was a bit noisy at night. No complaints and there were six adults in three rooms in our group. only downside was to get the longleat safari park tickets ( 2 for £22 offer) it meant having a meal at £25 per person as we were only B +B. We had to wait a while for breakfast as our order got missed.I am Vegan and was told I could not have mushrooms cooked in oil as they are done in butter!. Food not as good as stated, amounts small except for the last night when everything was very good.Staff at breakfast did not give the impression that they reallly wanted to be there.r. I had not realised it would be so close to a busy road. Dinner service didn't start until after 7pm and the steak was a bit pricey at £22.50. The bath water was a slow trickle but hot and toilet didn't flushproperly. The restaurant and service let the hotel down. The menu was good, but you were not advised when left with the menu what was available. We were left for 10 minutes with the menu's; when we offered our selection we were told that one dish was not on. The same happened with the sweet course. We had to ask three times for the water we had ordered. We felt the food starters and dessert portions were on the small side and service a little slow at times. Twin rooms in short supply. Original room was small and very dark and not as our impression from the web site. TV 's were old with unacceptably poor reception, only 4 channels, would expect Sky given the hotel charges. Overall the hotel fell well short of what is expected today. My wife was very disappointed with the 'mean' bath towels - not what she expects from Johannsens.The room under the eaves was intolerably hot . Poor insulation in the roof. Was charged for a bottle of wine I did not consume. When reported to hotel manager, was told they could do nothing about it! Left a very bad taste. Would not stay here again.1. Room was far too hot although it was a hot night generally. 2. Bed was far too small - and with large wood piece at the foot end of the bed how can you possibly consider booking a 6'2" man into this bed??? I got no sleep. 3. The male server's bitching at everyone and everything in the kitchen - I don't want to hear that when I am in a hotel. Very unprofessional. Room did not appear to have been cleaned everyday of our stay. Bed was very uncomfortable and room was very hot even though we did not have any heat on during our stay. Bathroom also had an unpleasant smell most probably due to carpet getting wet from shower. The food in the restaurant was not always very good. For standard of hotel we felt room and restaurant was overpriced.No newspapers, not enough milk, poor bar service, no tea and coffee freely available in the lounge, banging doors throughout the night.

1. Exit Junction 17 (M4). Head south on A350 on the Chippenham By-pass
2. Where A4 crosses A350 follow the A4 towards Corsham/Bath
3. After by-passing Corsham take left fork to Bradford on Avon on B3109 4. Join A363 at Bradford on Avon and enter town
5. Cross the bridge and after 100 metres turn left at mini roundabout, remaining on A363 towards Trowbridge
6. Hotel is on the right at the top of the hill just after you pass the sign 'Welcome to Trowbridge'

M25/M3-Westbound from South London direction:
1. Exit Junction 8 (M3) onto A303 Westbound
2. At Stonehenge fork right onto A344
3. Pass through Shrewton and turn left on B390 towards Chitterne across Salisbury Plain
4. At the junction with A36 turn right towards Warminster which you bypass and head towards Westbury and Trowbridge
5. From Westbury stay on A363 and at Trowbridge follow signs to Bath, Bradford on Avon and Trowle
6. The hotel is on the A363 between Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon on the left

M5-Southbound/Northbound or M4 Eastbound (from Wales):
1. Join M4 eastbound towards London
2. Exit Junction 18, southbound towards Bath on A46
3. By-pass Bath and stay on dual carriageway for another mile till you reach the Batheaston roundabout. Follow A363 to Bradford on Avon
4. Join A363 at Bradford on Avon and enter town
5. Cross the bridge and after 100 metres turn left at mini roundabout, remaining on A363 towards Trowbridge
From south Coast:
1. Travel via Frome if coming from the west or Warminster from the east 2. At Trowbridge follow the signs for 'Through Traffic' then to Bath/Bradford on Avon on the A363
3. The hotel is on the A363 on the left at the top of the hill as you leave Trowbridge
