We have stayed in Formule 1 hotels, and as this one was once an F1, we had no concern about what it was like - perfect for our brief stay of two days only. Value for money. £8 taxi ride to tall trees. very friendly staff. quite near tall trees. Friendly helpful staff. friendliness of the staff, they tried there hardest with what facilities are available at the hotel. all reviews »
ease of travel to north and south. Leaving. Absolutely nothing. No, as I say, it was perfect for us. the self cleaning toilets in which the floor and toilet seat are always wet through. Difficult to find. No tea/coffeee making facilities in the room. The toilets, and showers, being shared, they were like porta loos,...plus we had no privacy,.. the staff knocked on our door twice and didnt give us time to answer before they barged in on us. Once was an accident, twice was damned rude,..not ensuite and self cleaning toilest and shower. there were no tea or coffee facilities and the machines downstairs where not in use, therefore no means of refreshment.Old fashioned 70's. No facilities to make a drink of tea or coffee. No en-suite facilities had to walk down the corridor to the WC and showers. The staff were rude, there was no facilities for hot drinks, the machine in reception was out of order and the staff didn't seem bothered about it. There was no information about local restaurants and staff were not helpful when asked. The WiFi mentioned in the hotel review was not available anymore.I did not like the fact that there was no electricity on when i came back from work in the early hours and that there was no night porter to whoom i could ask to rectify this matter and also no appology was made about this matter. Although i was told by other guests that it is a regular occurance that the power goes off several times a week. The hotel (if you can call it that) was poorly run. The staff were moreinterested in eating their takeaway and watchin x Factor. Our room waspretty poor, it was freezing and stank of stale smoke. The key code intothe rooms were wrong and the receptionist was not particularly bothered!The place reminded me of a hostel, not a hotel. On plus side they gaveus our money back as we did not stay.
