My room had a hair dryer full length mirror on double wardrobe door tea and coffee making facilities an fully equipped bathroom with complimentary toiletries and fresh towels daily. There was also a guide book with all local attractions and information.     friendly and efficient, pleasant stay - although the hotel is a big old place the rooms were extremely clean the beds very comfortable, we didnt get a chance to eat breakfast as we awere leaving on the 6.15 ferry but was offered continental breakfast instead. excellent value for money and I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again

    My sister and I arrived earlier than the designated check in time and were greeted by a lovely staff member (Chris). He assured us that he would clean our room first in order for us to check in early. He also helped to carry our bags to our room and refused a tip. He was extremely accommodating and friendly.     We had a warm welcome after a very stressful drive in snowy conditions. Our car ran off the road! We phoned ahead to explain we would be late. We eventually arrived after midnight and were welcomed. We felt we had arrived at a warm and safe haven. We had a long sleep in the next morning to recover from our ordeal. Oban is a very pretty town, especially in the - Very good price and excellent location close to the town centre. The house was lovely and warm- essential in the winter months. The room had everything you need and coffee as well. They were very friendly and gave us all the information we wanted in a helpful manner.

    We booked 3 rooms at the last minute and did not notice that the rooms were not en-suite. We were concerned as we had an 80 year old solo lady in our party but everything was fine. Nice clean guest house and very nice owners. Good Scottish breakfast to send us on our way. - Stayed in two separate rooms with adult son .Accommodation budget but... what people say » clean and comfortable enough.     This is the second time I have stayed at the Selborne Hotel, this time with elderly mum (last time as a lone traveller). Once again I would like to thank the manager and staff for their friendliness and courtesy. We asked for a few specific requests to aid mum's requirements too and the hotel assisted in every way. Locals and other guests at hotel... what people say » (who tended to be coach travellers) were all chatty and made for a lovely little mini-break. As for the hotel's view of the bay, it is second to none - Great location, great view (worth the extra for a sea view). The room was spotless, nicely decorated and well presented, as was the en-suite bathroom. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, though we didn't test how flexible the options were. We preferred to eat out in the evenings rather than brave the busy dining room. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Wifi was available in our room, possibly because we were very close to reception.
