The location was perfect! We went for a concert, literally a 5 minute walk to the arena, a 5 minute walk to the shopping centre and the Christmas market was down the road. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Parking was also perfect as it was cheap and right opposite the hotel. Also, considering how close we were to pubs and clubs, we couldn't hear a thing from our room. Would definitely choose this hotel again.
all reviews » The staff were excellent. They helped me with printing business documents, getting wi-fi access and even lent me a sewing kit! They also gave me extra tea and coffee and advised me on getting a taxi. I was impressed by how they helped other customers - someone wanted a Blackberry charger and they went out of their way to find one. The staff were excellent - friendly and professional. Really good location, walk round the corner and you're in the centre of the city! The beds were really comfy, dare I say it even better than premier inn! Some people have complained about the pod bathroom, however we though it was great, a generously sized shower. Staff were friendly and helpful, nice clean room. The hotel is in a fab location for events at the Arena. Have stayed there twice now due to the first concert being cancelled. Both stays were enjoyable. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have everything you need. The 24hr bar and food service is a really good idea too and we took advantage of this. Almost everything. The location, the staff, cleanness, value for money. If you just want a room to stay for a few days without expending too much this is a very good option at the city centre, near to 2 shopping centres, the main square, coach and railway station, public transport, pubs, etc. Great location. Very easy access to the train station and it is right in front of the Lace Market tram station. Shops and bars nearby yet very quiet at night (my room faced the back). I like the cleanlinesses of the room and shower. The hot and powerful shower is the best thing in the room. The hotel was very convenient ,with parking opposite , for walking to the main shopping areas and the Capital Arena. There are tram stops outside to get to other parts of Nottingham. Our room was very clean and for a budget hotel comfortable.The staff were very helpful and well informed. Fast quick lifts. Reasonable bar tariff. rooms were clean and bed very comfortable. The welcome from the staff .... the helpfuless... my room was clean and comfotable and the experience exceeded my expectations . A very friendly city, one of my favourites in the uk, and the hotel is ideally placed near the station and by the pedestrianised central streets and with bus and tram stops outside. Perfect. It is a budget hotel in the centre of the city. It provided what it said on the tin: clean, helpful staff and value for money. The central location The comfortable bed The relative peace and quiet The fact that you can eat breakfast as early as 4 a.m.!. Location was fantastic. Breakfast was the best I've tasted in any hotel. The most comfortable bed in any hotel we've stayed. Staff was fantastic. They allowed us to extend our checkout, they also printed our boardning passes, always with a smile. I was in room 428 and the soap dispenser in the shower did not work so I had to use the tiny complementary soap left for washing your hands. I think the price of 24 hour wi-fi (£9.99) was ridiculously high. Were not told which car park to use when booking (there is a discount on the lace market multi storey opposite, we ended up in the ncp round the corner). This meant we paid a little more than we should, but not a big deal!. There wasn't anything I didn't like about the hotel. The free wi-fi is slow (as they say, it's just for e-mailing and not much more) but you can upgrade it for 3 pounds per day. The bed isn't very comfortable because of the thin mattress topper above the mattress. I didn't sleep too well. I had a twin room for myself and the single bed must be narrower than a standard single. I am slim myself yet find the bed too small. The staff worked very hard and efficiently. There were times when more staff were needed eg: at breakfast time but this is a management issue. The bathroom facilities were not sound-proof!. Swipe card not always working in the lift. Slight smell of sewage in bedroom. Television screen wearing out, paid to watch a movie but there was a green strip running across the screen. Air conditioning not working. Carpet very thin. The set price for breakfast was too high. I would rather pay for what I eat. Also the price for wi-fi (although I do acknowledge that it gives us choice and can keep costs down). I would have liked more TV channels (eg BBC 3 and 4 especially). Internet was a bit sporadic. there was nothing we didn't like. We booked a twin room, and on arrival were offered a double room, because there was a problem with the 'twin' rooms. We refused the double room, and were given a twin room on the 2nd floor. On entry into our room the beds were not made up. We rang reception and were told to go back down. We were then given another twin room. The cool air system didn't work very well. Limited bar menu with all meals cooked in combi oven / microwave at the bar. Anyone who stays in Ibis hotels will know what to expect re check in desk / bar / lounge / dining proximity to each other. Carpet in room could have done with a clean, was looking fairly grubby. The last thing I expected was to have to produce a credit card to buy a drink at the bar and before having breakfast in the morning. Surely these things should be added to the room bill and settled on check out. Only one thing I didn't like. The sink was extremely slow to drain away, hence I had a sink full of water, even when I didn't want it. It was as if the plug hole (underneath the metal bung) was full of hair or other debris. Everything is good. Having to swipe the card to start the lift, this didn't work when we did it and we had to wait for a member of staff to swipe the card. A shame that there were a few roudy groups on a stag night. But you could put up with it for a night. Nottingham Forest's equalising goal against Brighton... The car parking across the road was expensive. I managed to find smaller car park a couple of streets away, but it was not secure. The key didn't work once, which meant walking down five flights to get it fixed (you need the keycard to use the lift). Some guests were a little loud when coming back to the hotel from what sounded like a good night out! Not a criticism of the hotel as this can happen any where. Nothing. Breakfast I thought was expensive. I can not think of anything that I did not like. N/a. nothing. A little bit noisy at night-didn't wake me up but did wake up my partner. Didn't opt for breakfast as it wasn't good value for money. Breakfast wasn't included in the price. Parking was reliant upon public car parks and, although there was a preferential rate agreed by the Ibis, it still added £30 to the cost of the trip. soooo much noise Friday night - late into the night - people coming back from their evening out and literally screaming their heads off (drunk as a skunk!) wouldn't stay for weekends another time.... Minor quibble, after a day walking round the shops and up and down the hills of Nottingham a bath would have been nice, but not essential and for the price of the room very satisfied. our room (218) was a bit dark, but other people in my group had brighter aspects but had some outside noise from revellers instead, we didn't, but if you want to be in the centre of a city you should expect to be able to hear some of it too. Nothing. The fact that there were no towels in the bathroom! The lack of a shelf in the bathroom to place washing and shaving items. The fact that I was unable to open the window for some air!. Nothing. Found a 0.50€ coin under the bed, which made us question the cleanliness of the room.
