I took my girlfriend away for the weekend, and we had an amazing time. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the facilities are very modern and clean. The grounds are well kept and I proposed to my girlfriend in the rock garden, which looks like something straight out of a fantasy film. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to couples, and we would love to stay here again.
all reviews » Wonderful historic building and rooms. Lovely setting. Wernher restaurant is quite exceptional. Golf course massive. Clay pigeon shooting top. Highly recommended as a historic and luxurious weekend. However I think you need to be in the main building - you wouldn't want to be in the modern block - no matter how sympathetically designed. That would eliminate the whole point of the experience. The warm welcome that we received by all of the staff. The food was brilliant in the restaurant and the Bistro. Stayed in main house in between the rooms of the Queen and Prince Phillip.Brilliant. Beautiful house and parkland with good spa and leisure faacilities. Our room in the Flower Garden was spacious, well equipped and peaceful and perfectly positioned for the spa and pool. Loved the serene and exquisite environment. It was comfort beyond imagination. I will surely recommend this hotel to all. And would definitely be back. 'twas an awesome experience. Service from front of house staff, especially gentlemen at front door who kindly offered to collect my car. Touches like this really make a difference. The staff were so welcoming and attending , first class service and the premises were exquisite , it was a dream stay !. The Hotel and staff were all as expected for this standard of hotel. However the quality of the decor is somewhat variable. The golf locker rooms were a bit messy and some people had cleaned their shoes in there rather than outside. There was nothing to dislike!. The distance between facilities and having to use old London taxis. Although provided and the service was good the fact that you had to do it was rather tiresome. The kitchen staff was very nosy bringing breakfast to the room and staring around the room. When asked to leave the breakfast tray at the entrance he walked right in,. nothing, all was perfect. Not enough information as we were not advised where the breakfast was taken . Waited a long time to be served afternoon tea , it was almost as we were forgotten and at no point were we offered more tea after our initial order .The worst afternoon tea experience we have had anywhere regarding service. The temperature of shower in my room was not working.It was scalding hot or very hot. the rooms we were offered are in an out building where the bar and resturant are very average. The up market restaurant can't be bothered to open on Monday which shows how serious these people are!! A waste of a great facility obvious managed by amateurs. The Brassiere restaurant was awful. Staff could have been better Food in Brasserie poor, main restaurant was closed. the rooms need to be update.

Wernher Restaurant is located in the original State Dining Room in the Mansion House, and offers exquisite fine dining. Adventurous dishes and traditional British classics are served. Gentlemen are requested to wear a jacket or tie for dinner. The Adam's Brasserie is housed within the historic Stables Building, designed by distinguished 18th-century architect, Robert Adams. It offers a more informal style of dining, from a modern British menu. The Adam's Brasserie is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Luton Hoo is known to have been among the most expensive schemes of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown's career, second only to his work at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

In 1947, the present Queen Elizabeth and newly wedded husband Prince Phillip spent part of their honeymoon at Luton Hoo, as personal friends of Lady Zia.

Dining: The Adam's Brasserie is open daily (excluding Sunday nights). Wernher Restaurant - Gentlemen are requested to wear a jacket or tie for dinner. Please note children can enjoy the swimming pool at the spa between 09:00-11:00 and 15:00-17:30. Advanced booking is essential for guests that want to dine in either of the hotel's restaurants. The hotel can be contacted using the contact details found on the booking confirmation. Guests wishing to book spa treatments, are advised to do so in advance. Please note, all guests names must be disclosed at time of booking, including children. Children's ages must also be disclosed. - Leave the M1 at junction 10 signed for Luton Airport.
- Drive along the dual carriageway to Kidney Wood roundabout.
- Take 3rd exit, signed for Harpenden.
- Continue along the road for 800 metres (half a mile) and then turn left into the hotel entrance.

From Luton Airport:
- Head southeast on Spittlesea Rd toward Percival Way.
- Turn right at Percival Way and take the 3rd exit onto Airport Way.
- At Airport Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A505/Airport Way.
- Go through one roundabout and you will come to the Kidney Wood Roundabout.
- Take the 1st exit onto the A1081 London Road, heading to Harpenden.
- Turn left into the main driveway of the hotel.
