perfect-we stayed there for our 1st Wedding anniversary, they upgraded our room, flowers that were ordered were in the room. It was excellent and great communications from all staff who were v v welcoming and helpful-keep it up. The food, the staff and the service was excellant. We will definitely be returning. Location, breakfast, cost. i really like the hotel.

Renovation work which we did not know about. the upgrade was to a smoking room - i was told it wasn't - it was mokling from the outside but not from the inside! there was also an ashtray in the room!!! also, maintenance work started at 9am on the sunday morning right outside my room with drills and hammering - it was a joke, and no warning was given. it meant my experience of the hotel was dreadful. letsbookhotel.com told that the children policy of this hotel allow for children under 12 years old to stay with charge of free. But, my 2 children were not allowed to stay with me in stanard double room.I thought that considering it is a 4 star rated hotel - complimentary tea/ coffee facilities should be available in all rooms even on room only bookings. One of the doors on the ladies toilets in the downstairs reception area was broken which made for a very interesting use of the facilities considering there are only 2 loos!!. fresh milk for room, breakfast to be offered. Poor decoration, 'tired' rooms. Bed very hard.I have stayed at this hotel with letsbookhotel.com previously and paid a very good rate of £119 incl breakfast. This time we paid £169 and no breakfast was included. The staff also refused to book a cab for us to be taken to the station and just gave us directions to the nearest cab pick up which was quite a walk with 2 suit cases. I also have a very bad back condition which made this nearly impossibe. 1). Two days before my arrival, I was telephoned by the hotel and advised that they had over booked and had no room for me. I was offered another Thistle not in Central London and cabs to and from my event. I explained that I lived in Greater London and had only booked the hotel for convenience on a night out. After making a complaint to Hear Office, I was promised a room would be available.

The hotel is situated on left of Whitcomb Street. Railway and the Tube: Charing Cross Station, Euston Station, Victoria Station are all within 2 miles. Arriving at any London mainline rail stations take the underground to either Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly or Bakerloo lines) or Leicester Square (Northern or Piccadilly lines). Follow signs to Leicester Square and then the National Gallery and that will bring you into Whitcomb Street. The hotel is on the left hand side. Air: From Heathrow Airport (17 miles), take the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly Circus. The hotel is 10 minute walk or 5 mins taxi ride away. Follow the above directions.
