What people say
This is an excellent place to stay if you're on a budget or just seeking a no frills place to lay the head down. The room was nice, fresh clean towels were available on request and the beds were very comfortable. Location is a 10 minute walk tothe city centre. Hana was very helpful and organised a taxi to the train station for the next morning - thanks Hana you are the best!.
- Room and bathroom was clean.
- Staff was very friendly.
- Not so far from city centre.
- 24 hours gas station just 3 minuts by walk.
- I presume that for any people localization will be weak point - but I liked it.all reviews »
- close to the city centre
- really nice room
- excellent live music heard from the nearby building (tv/radio not needed) ;) + for those who like silence while sleeping, they didn't play all night.
The room was basic, just what was needed after a nice night out.
Highly recomended, very friendly and willing staff/holder.A+++.
The price is really good and the place is really clean.
the guys running the place were absolute diamonds.
Very friendly. Fantastic value, and clean.
Location not so far from city centre.
I liked the price.
Friendly stuff.
The room for what we wanted was adequate. We only paid £20 for a night so wasn't expecting a lot. But after reading all of the reviews on here about it being obismal, i was pleasantly surprised. Was I foolish in not expecting the Hilton for their £20 a night? Our room was clean and had a TV in there and a mirror, shared bathroom which was kept clean too. A few marks on the wall in the room. When you first go through the door it is bad, it is a little smelly and the carpet was wrecked, but once .
Basic b&b in Vauxhall district close to the city center. I love such industrial areas. Very nice woman at the reception desk. Breakfast in cafe downstairs. Value for money.
Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to, and not far from town center! Quick to sort our problem with room door. Easy to check out.
The window of room 5 does not close properly and so the property is unsafe for young children who likes to climb.
the rooms were clean and basic ok for what we wanted.
Cheap, very good close to city center!.
It was clean.
price.
Clean very basic room. I'd class this more of a hostel than a hotel.
Not a bad place for the price.
The rooms were very warm, it make us feel comfortable, specially after cold walks outside!.
Close to the centre
Rooms were clean
Bathroom was clean.
fairly good value.
a save for money.
Nothing.
The guest house provides very good value for money. I got a three bed room for only 20 pounds per night and I booked that the night before, definitely I recommend it. Thanks to the guy behind the bar at the O'tooles who waited for till late to check in. Cheers, Mo.
Nothing really ! The place is run down and a long walk into the city .
You can get much much more for your money in Liverpool .
Liverpool is a great town with very cool people. Awesome night life.
TV with lots of channels and DVD player, and free WiFi.
Didnt stay long in the venue.
Absolutely nothing.
Good location.
Nothing.

nothing.
The immediate vicinity is fairly quiet in comparison with the city centre but this is good if you want to escape the crowds!.
- If you are looking luxury, choose something different.
- check out at 10am (too early since chceck in starts at 2pm)
- tv didn't work (although we didn't have much time to watch tv, it would've been nice if it had worked)
- no internet.
They charge 1 pound for 1 towel.
Given the price, nothing to complain about. Not everyone's cup of tea, perhaps, but at this price? Would happily use again.
I didn't like the fact that it was so far from the city.
The only think I didn't like was the surrounding area that it was in. And also having to go to the pub up the road to collect the key was a bit of a pain. Someone has put it is half a mile up the road, NO IT IS NOT! Its a 2 minute walk if that! And there is a bus stop right outside but we got taxi's at night because of the area reputation.
Room extremely small. Sensor that turned light in hall did not work. Steep and narrow stairs.
Bathroom floor was dirty.
Had the code from the other room but the room we were put in didnt have wifi info in.
Should put phones in rooms to save walking between the 2 when you need a member staff.
its not very good being next to the place were they play drums most of the day and there were some younge lads in the room next to us came in at 430 am dont mind that but they were messing about and banging all morning spoilt our last night.
The matrix of the beds weren't very comfortable.
The area looked like you could film Jack the Ripper there.
didnt sleep radiator noisy.
Not practical for family travel. Staircase narrow and inconvenient for carrying large luggages and when you have a few pieces of these. Although, toilets are big.
From the outside it doesn't look that inviting but once you're in it's ok. Didn't like having to travel 5 blocks down the road to get breakfast, we didn't eat breakfast in the end as the coffee machine in the bar had broken and we didn't fancy what was on offer.
If all you need is a bed for the night this place is fine but if you're looking for somewhere more than basic necessities there are a few Travelodge style hotels a lot closer to the town.
I reached Liverpool in a rainy day (UK storm Dec. 2013) after delays and a exhaustive journey. We sent an e-mail as warning we were going to check in late, 22 ish. And send a second e-mail as a remind 3 days before. Nobody was there, and I had to wait outside getting wet and frozen for 30 minutes until someone came to give me access to the facilities.
Reception was a 5 minute walk from the the building
The hall ways were dirty
Looked nothing like the pictures from the outside.
walking down the road for self service toast for breakfast.
no blinds on the rooflight windows
the other customers in the hotel.
the location is poor, quite far from the city if you are walking. Your room and the place you check-in are not in the same building! (about five mins extra walk) The hotel should specify such info online!.
Everything.
rooms too small no teamaking facilates overpriced.
Everything ! Room didn't get cleaned during our 5 night stay and
room had a half eaten pizza under one of the beds which hadn't been
cleaned up after the previous people had left ! Disgusting !.
This b&b is the worst place I have ever stayed. I honestly felt sick
at paying 119 pounds for the experience. No towels provided. Floor in
bedroom so dirty I was sticking to it in my shoes and in the morning the
smell of dirty grease traps from the cafe downstairs was so over
powering I actually felt ill. City b&B....never ever again!.
No Kettle in the room.
The shared bathroom did not get cleaned once during my 3 night stay.
No lifts, had to climb 2 flights of the narrow stairs with a large suitcase.
Got kept up to all hours of the morning as a girl next door was screaming and crying
- room smelt really bad
-showers and bathrooms were filthy
-cops came in early morning
-no where near worth the money.
Checking in at another place only seen member of staff when checking and
checking out .bedrooms very basic and bathroom was under renovations so
glad we only stop the one night would not recommend to any one!! Very
over priced.
Staff very rude, not pleasent made the stay uncomfortable. Shared bathroom was a mess, and wasnt told that there was a communal bathroom. Not good value for money, all beds old needs refurbishment. Walls very dirty needs to be painted.
Eveerthing.
Tv wasn't to bad.
is in need to a deep clean, from the smell to the dust and grime in the carpets.. bedrooms need a lick of paint (of one colour) and the bathroom needs the mildew removing from the shower.. curtains need replacing as they are filthy.. clean laundered sheets need to be a must for every new customer arriving.
noisy! U need to care about the check in time! If u go there after 8pm, u need to pay extra 10 pounds for check in.
It was in a very rough area, smelt of damp, the communal bathroom was dirty we checked out within half an hour and stayed somewhere else i would not recommend this place at all.
The receptionist was so rude ,the price in relation to the facilities is very high, water was not present at bathroom ,in general I spent the worst two nights in this hostel!.
