Everything! Everything was fabulous!! We were met from our taxi by the
doorman who asked our surname, which he repeated into his lapel. We
walked through the revolving doors and were met by a lovely lady who
greeted us by name and showed us the hotel and finally to our room. The

Clean and well kept hotel with an absolutely unbeatable location at this price and standard. Easy access to Covent Garden (four minute walk) and the West End (ten). Tons of bars and restaurants nearby; or grocery stores if you're staying in.
I've stayed a few times; quality is consistently very good and staff always friendly. I always wonder what the catch is.

I'd never stayed at The Athenaeum before but I will be back. Although I booked a standard double at a very deep discounted rate (typically this means getting the box room next to the staff quarters), I was given an apartment room which was really a suite.
