The hotel is in an excellent location to see the Lake District. The only issue is the parking. The hotel does not own the parking lot so you must pay to use it. The lot is also rather small so you may have to park on the street and move your car by 9:00 in the morning or be ticketed. The staff were very friendly and helpful on our arrival. No problem parking outside. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent and the bar staff and bar area brilliant for a nightcap. Central to all shops and restaurants and nice little park next to the hotel.

Also, the location is very good, bordering the city centre but reachable with the car. At the expected standard for premier inn, staff very helpful - especially since the letsbookhotel.com website made a mistake and failed to make the booking after sending me confirmation. We needed a disabled-access room, and found one of the best we have seen Even the fire warning was at wheelchair level Excellent location for visiting the town. It was very comfortable and central. We came for the comic arts festival and the hotel made an effort to get involved e.g. dressing up as super heroes!. Fantastic warm friendly helpful staff lovely bar restaurant are great value for money right in the heart of the town perfect!!. convenient for the Lake District, especially when travelling from the South. Limited car parking (although it was expected in Kendal). The food in the restaurant was poor but as it was so centrally located we went elsewhere for the remainder of the time. The Parking arrangements or lack of them for hotel guests had to pay £6 to park in the courtyard next to a metal container and building site. Suspect this is only temporary but it was a bit of a hassle. We were fine, but I believe the parking can be a problem when busy. We enjoyed the Continental breakfast next door, but people were not happy with the cooked breakfast. Car parking a bit tight but managed OK on road as weekend. Also can't turn right into road where hotel is if coming from north. Parking costing £5 Duvets are too hot, we prefer sheets and blankets. Price of breakfast so chose to eat breakfast in a local cafe for half the price. Not enough things in the tea/coffee area - needed more coffee and milk. Car park outside was full - had to walk a fair distance to alternative. One small con was I think our room was near a generator or something that purred all night so was a little noisy to get off to sleep too, but I am a light sleeper. Lack of on site parking evening menu did not change in resturant but there was still a fair selection. The bedroom windows don't open. No free car-park. Smelly shower curtain. Long way to room. Nothing. Parking is a tad limited and it's a shame that hotel guests have to pay for it, but in a confined town centre in the lakes both issues are perfectly understandable. Limited parking. parking not good fairly noisy in the room due to an elephant staying in the room above attatched restaurant could have been better as food was sometimes a bit under par. We were lucky to get a parking spot outside but there was a risk that we might have had to park elsewhere. nothing. The trouble finding a place to park and having to pay. Would also have liked to have two comfortable chairs in room to relax in instead of one. Heating did not work Poor car parking. Table Table restaurant attached! Poor food, poor staff who lack knowledge!. Bar area has few lounge seats. Long wait between ordering dinner and food being served. Having to pay extra to park m/cycle on pavement in adjoining carpark. Hotel not well signposted from main road thro' town. nothing we didnt like. No phones in the room. My cell phone was not working and I had no access to a phone. No hotel parking and having to pay. Quite difficult to find, but Kendal is a nightmare anyway!. Absolutely nothing. Bar closing at midnight. Car parking was a real issue, my clothes got wet for my night out on the walk!. Resteraunt was not up to Premier Inn normal standards. People smoking right outside the front door, and under our window was not appreciated. The room wasn't as cleaned the second day as we would wish. It was very clear somebody didn't change the bed sheets. having to pay for parking.
