Accomodation was good value for money compared to other hotels. Excellent breakfast.quiet, nicely decorated room, good selection of breakfast food. Peaceful atmosphere, helpful friendly staff, cleanliness. The location was very good for visiting local places.Clean, comfortable room. Excellent food.Room and Evening Meal. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Having the use of a DVD player and a fridge was very useful. Although we did not get a chance to eat in the restaurant the menu looked very appetising and the breakfast was a very assorted buffet selection.Lovely hotel in lovely setting. Room had everything we needed including bath robes which I wasnt expecting at this type of hotel! Lots of character and, the way place is arranged, you are not so aware of other guests.Comfortable large room, staff very friendly and food first class.Lovely room and good choice of menu for dinner and breakfast. Comfortable, warm, friendly, great breakfast. clean, good facilities. I liked the quirkiness of the layout and my room was excellent.Good breakfast. Comfortable room, clean linen. Very quiet. Location and nice surroundings. I Liked the ambience, relaxed and comfortable .most of the rooms at ground level. The layout in courtyards made it interesting.Friendly staff, wide variety of food for breakfast, clean room and only a few minutes walk to a quiet beach. Friendly and relaxing environment with good food and accommodation. Excellent breakfast and good public rooms. Very nice very clean food excellent. attentive staff good meals. staff were on the whole good, hotel fairly central, to the locations we wanted to visit.pleasant surroundings suited our needs. The quietness, good staff response. no traffic noise. Location. The only downside to my stay at Caley Hall was that the fish delivery hadn't been made, so there was no fish on the menu for dinner.Corridors and stairwell could do with a lick of paint. No proper shower in the bathroom.Just a small problem with the bill I paid the bill in cash on arrival on Sunday afternoon however my partner was unaware of this and paid the bill on Monday morning with his bank card, It was only when he questioned me when returning the key that we found we had paid twice. The receptionist credited his card but we felt that the fact that the bill had been paid should have been noted.price per person not per room. the sudden increase in drink and food prices half way through our stay. Evening restaurant food not such good value for money. Poor TV reception, although this does not bother me particularly as I did go away to watch TV!. no hollandaise sauce!!!. Not much, but the shower was not very good. That the bar is not open later to residents. As there were a number of us in our party who don't see each other regularly it would have been nice to chill out in the bar/lounge for longer than we were able instead of having to go back to one of the rooms.Having to go outside to get to room in bad weather.Would have liked to have used AMEX card. Could have been a problem under ither circumstances.our room was cold when we got there. Room a little too warm. Had to open windows.Small bedroom but very large bathroom - perhaps the wardrobe could be moved into the bathroom. Poor direction signs, especially in darkness. Recurring problem with hotwater supply in the room and at least one other adjoining room (butpromptly dealt with). Room was quite hot and walls very thin. Having to go outside to get to the rooms. food was a bit pricey. the evening meal was some what over cooked and not very good value for money. The breakfast was excellent. Now getting very old in the tooth, rooms dated and not as clean as they could be.
