We have never had such an hospitable and comfortable stay as we did inthis hotel. The owners were so helpful - nothing too much bother. Thebeds - unbelievable. Super comfort. Excellent in every way - friendly proprietors, pleasant rooms, very goodbreakfast. No doubt the best place to stay in Clacton on Sea.We were made to feel welcome and were well looked after, we would definnitely use this hotel again.

Following the reorganisation of the criteria for quality standards, the former name of Chudleigh Hotel will now be known just as The Chudleigh. It has achieved a 4-star rating under the AA and National Tourist Board guest accommodation classification.

Information about the area

Beautiful golden beaches, a vibrant pier, leisure centre, attractive seafront gardens, sport on land and water, pleasure flights from Clacton Aero Club and nightlife, which is as lively or relaxing as you wish it to be; its all here. The Princes and West Cliff Theatres provide the venues for spectacular shows and events and attract top showbiz names.

If a few hours shopping is your ideal way to relax, then you will not be disappointed with the range of shops in the town centre. Nearby Great Clacton also hosts a range of independent shops and Clacton Factory Shopping Village is a must, with shops offering discounts of up to 60% on high street prices.

Travelling information

From M25:
- Continue onto the A12 and follow signs for Clacton.
- Follow signs for the seafront and pier.
- Take the 1st road after pier gap traffic lights with sea on your left.
- Turn right into Agate Road.

Clacton-on-Sea train station is a 8 minute walk or short taxi along Station Road to seafront.
Turn right and right again into Agate Road.
