all reviews » Excellent buffet at breakfast - never seen curried chickpeas and basmati on a breakfast menu before, very very nice indeed. The cook was standing near the buffet and we had an excellent chat about vegetarian foods. The hotel is an excellent hotel overall, and the room was spectacular. The staff were super professional and friendly, and I greatly enjoyed it. The bar and lounge area were a great place to meet colleagues or to just sit and read quietly. The location is brilliant, you couldn't be closer to the city centre. The building itself seems relatively new, which added to the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Both the room and bathroom were very spacious. We had emailed the hotel beforehand to make a special request and they not only replied very quickly but granted our request very quickly and easily. It was my first time booking this hotel chain, but it definitely won't be the last!. Is my favourite Hotel around Bristol and I always stay at Radisson Blu around uk and abroad. Reception staff were overall friendly and helpful although some handled our enquiries better than others. Our room and bathroom were spacious and looked recently decorated. We were put on a high floor and a quite room same as we requested which was very pleasing. The hotel is ideal for a city break as it is has a fantastic location. The staff were very helpful in giving directions and booking taxi's. The room was comfortable, sound proofed and had a great bathroom. We didn't have breakfast as there are lots of cafes nearby and we wanted to spend as much time as possible out and about. Friendly helpful staff, specially those at the reception. Cleanliness. Choice of food @ the breakfast. Outside view from the room. Feeling safe .I visited my daughter studying in Bristol, and I felt that the hotel was safe and ideal to spend few days with family. Most of all the bed was very comfortable. Loved the location of the hotel-close to main attractions and city center.The room and the bathroom were spacious, clean and warm. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was almost square so we ended up sleeping in crazy positions.Have we any possibility - will stay there again. The view form my room on the 14th floor and the spaciousness of it all with a desk area and a seating area and nice lighting. Thank you for wonderful stay Radisson Blu. my first room was on the fifth floor looking at an urban canyon (building opposite) and had zero view - asked to be moved, and was promptly accomodated :). Some fittings in the room were poor such as wardrobe door cannot open fully as hinge installation fault. Electric sockets are dangerous and were installed poorly as they come out when I plugged in my mobile charge. It is not worth having the room with breakfast as there are many cafes close by with better selection and cheaper price. Since we don't eat pork, we had very limited choice. No fresh juices too!. The set up for coffee /tee in the room not practical. No power point to heat the water from where it is located. I tried one touch service to get some help to use the coffee mechine but unfortunately it took so long for me to wait..finally I was running out of time to go out so I could not get the help I asked for even after waiting for nearly half an hour. I suggest that customers should be told roughly how much time thay will take to send someone so people will not waste time waiting.. there are no negatives. nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Expensive parking. The local car parks are no cheaper than the hotel's valet parking, though. Would have liked a socket nearer a mirror for when using the hair dryer. Or longer more flexible cord on the existing hair dryer. Had to go searching for tea/coffee and toast facilities at breakfast - would have been better to have been asked by staff if we wanted a hot drink. I was staying at the hotel with my dad, it would have been better to have had rooms next to each other rather than 2 rooms apart. Lift was out of service on arrival, had to take the stairs to 4th floor. Complimentary water wasn't replaced each day. Hot chocolate sachets weren't replaced each day. No plug socket for the kettle by the tea & coffee. For two out of three days strange after taste with cooked part of breakfast, cheap or stale oil? Restaurant shut on Sunday! Broken light. Air conditioning was not cold nor cool which resulted in a stuffy room Had to wait a while to both check in and check out. Guests shouls be informed he hotel offers a vallet parking and that you should park outside building in waiting zone. the room was a bit noisy-it didn't seem to have double glazing, which in a city is an essential must have. Nothing really, the bar manager was a bit off hand, but overall it was a good experience. The lifts were out of order on our first visit and seemed to take forever on our second visit. The room service on Sunday night was very poor quality! The restaurant was closed. Not too hungry after lunch so we ordered some toasted sandwiches which were so bad we could not eat them. The fillings were meagre, the bread was stale and toasted brick hard. The chips were cold. All very unappetising. I told the staff at check out and the room service charge was taken off our bill, so good service recovery!. More refreshments on arrival would be good, eg bottle of water. I found the pillows uncomfortable. It would have been nice to have had biscuits with the tea/coffee facilities. The wardrobe was too near the door and banged into main door hinge. You couldn't access the drawers. No mirror above dressing table. The member of staff on the desk rushed through everything like a steam train. Hardly anything was made clear to me and I couldn't really understand what was being said. Not a pleasant experience. I subsequently didn't see another member of staff until breakfast where I was practically left to fend for myself. Nobody asked how my food was or offered to clear my table when I was finished. I found the decor in the room a bit strange, and the service at breakfast was quite slow. Also, I was woken up at 5 a.m. on my first night due to a fire alarm! A subsequent night I tried to order a pizza from room service, but apparently the oven wasn't working - maybe the fire and the oven was connected??!!. No bath robes (we went business class to hopefully get that sort of extra. The lifts could be described as quirky, or just annoying...they went up and down and often didn't stop even when called several times!. A bit pricey for my budget. Lack of on site parking might have been a problem as NCP very expensive. Original room offered viewed across to the next wing of the hotel. Consequently no view and very dark. Expensive car parking. there was nothing really to dislike about this hotel, all facilities were excellent. However, there were only two lifts so there was at times a long wait. Shower was difficult to figure out. Also the bathtub is deep making it difficult to get in and out safely. Difficult to drive to the hotel, as the main entrance is on a road marked as a "Bus Only" route. However there is a back entrance perfectly accessible, just not advertised. One lift was out of action which caused disruption during the busy time ie breakfast and booking out. Parking. Very had to find because of the one-way system. Booked a smoking room but did not get one. No or poor lighting over mirrors. Difficult for man to shave and woman to do her hair. Internet said dinner at 1730hrs, but did not open until 1800hrs and thus a rush to eat before theatre show at 1915hrs. A very small minus point was that we found reception a little dark and cramped. I can't say there was anything we did not like!! Maybe the bar could stay open a little later at night, but even that was know big problem as we got room sevice. everything was good.
