Turas-Mara is a beautifully maintained, family-run guest house offering good food and free Wi-Fi. Both Ayr town centre and Ayr Rail Station are less than half a mile away. There are 4 golf courses within a 3 mile radius of the property, including Belleisle, Dalmilling, Prestwick and Prestwick Saint Nicholas Golf Clubs and bespoke golf packages can be arranged. Turas-Mara is totally non-smoking. All the bedrooms have a TV with digital Freeview, and facilities for making tea and coffee. There is private parking at the rear. At the front there is a well-tended garden which is overlooked by the dining room. For guests leaving before 07:00 a takeaway picnic breakfast is available.

Everything was perfect. Just like a home from home. The cleanliness and comfort of our room was superb. Even though we were at the front it was very quiet. The location was just right with no more than a 5 minute walk to the centre. I consider myself to be quite a fussy person but certainly have no complaints about our stay. Everything. We were felt so welcome, The host called us a taxi, The room was spotless and felt more like home than a BandB, Close to the town centre and an Excellent Breakfast. I will use this BandB again next time I visit the Race Course.

Breakfast is served from 08.00am to 09.00am (between 07.00am to 08.00am by arrangement). There is a picnic breakfast available for any of our guests leaving before 07.00am. A light supper is available (not included in price) for any weary traveller who just wants to relax.

Travelling information

Prestwick airport is about 10 minutes by road. Taxis are available or train to Ayr (also about 10 minutes)and it is 5 minutes walk from the station. If you are self drive - when you leave the airport turn left follow signs for Prestwick(A79). Follow the road into Ayr and then go straight at roundabouts past police station and then at next roundabout turn to right at fire station. This road takes you past the railway station keep to inside lane and follow sign at next 2 roundabouts for a713 (Castle Douglas road). This is you in Castlehill Road you will see Morrisons Supermarket. Turn into 2nd road on the left (St Andrews Street)Turas- Mara is on your right.
